If ever there was a Sauvignon Blanc that had some Riesling sensibilities…
Seriously though, I am a dedicated Sauvignon Blanc skeptic. I have tried so many, from Vatan to Dageneau to Bevan to Cloudy Bay, and I just cannot find a way to love it. The Massican Sauvignon Blanc came close. The Bedrock Steaks of William Holden or whatever came close. This wine comes closer. The fruit is all about citrus and peach (sounds like Riesling), the acidity is front and center (sounds like Riesling). There is a simultaneously chalky and creamy note on the finish, and a hit of herbs that don’t seem like Riesling, but then the mouthwatering acidity kicks in again. Hmm…I could like this. Maybe. I’ll leave a couple of glasses in the bottle to see tomorrow night. Keeping an open mind.
Light, golden-yellow in color. Full, forward & attractive nose of fresh citrus fruits of lemons/limes, pears & melon with overtones of floral notes of honeysuckle & lemongrass, stony/earthy, minerals & a slight hint of oak. Light-medium bodied with a good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, rich, ripe fruit flavors of lemons/limes, apples & melons with lemongrass, stony & minerals. Lingering dry finish. Drinks quite well at present but could age for another year or two.

Pridominately muscat clone. Smells like hay. Touch of grass. Fuller on the palate. Kinda flat to me but I can also see where it is going. Lots of dry extract here.

Thought this is an excellent sauv blanc for the price point. Rides the line between creamy and acidic. Can see this as a summer heat go-to. Refreshing, linear, solid white wine. Drank with chili which is one of my favorite combos when the weather cools down in Florida.

A very nice, moderately crisp SB, much more subtle than New Zealand (or even some Cali ones). Will be easily overpowered by the wrong food. We had with Scampi the first night and Lobster Bisque the second (Coravined in between). Went nicely with the Scampi, but was only "OK" with the Bisque.

Nice example of Cali SB. Very subtle at first but with air and warming some really nice peach and pear notes surface. No real oak notes but there's a roundness here that suggests at least partial barrel aging. Another solid value among the Bedrock entry levels.

Had this side by side with the 2019 Whitehaven SB (New Zealand) and this was more subtle and not as crisp. Good balance. Plenty of citrus in both but Bedrock more "oily" than Whitehaven.

So darn good, but best on day 2. Juicy, crisp and pleasingly citric. Great body and texture with only a hint of herbs. Very good length and balance... A winner.

May have cellared too long. Very nice melon flavors but May have passed it’s peak at this point.

We very much enjoy many Bedrock whites, so may be biased, but we really liked this paired with crab cakes with a remoulade sauce. Nicely balanced.

Fine wine with substance and not over-weight in any direction such as too much grass or too much oak. Just right.

I really enjoyed this...not oaky like some other CA SBs, and more restrained than ones from NZ.

Paired well with grilled chicken. Solid summer white, although i found this fairly basic overall and the acidity was a little soft.

Tropical leaning fruit but nice acidity on the palate. Medium depth. Has a nice mineral
Element.

Bright on the palate with citrus, grass, and a bit of honey. Light on its feet and tasty!
