Moderately hazy light gold well developed after this time in the bottle. Heavier viscosity than most SB's with a floral driven nose showing little fruit. Quite interesting overall, not "classic" sauvignon blanc flavors, but enjoyable. From the list, Best Cellar, Blowing Rock, North Carolina.

Somewhat viscous, oily fruit flavors dominate with a surprisingly heavy mouthfeel. Still very good but seems to have lost some of it's vibrancy as there is little to no acidty in the midpalate.

14.4% alcohol. Opened and served immediately. Light yellow color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of gooseberries, lime, lemon and a dash of white pepper. Flavors of lime, lemon, gooseberries and grapefruit. Light to medium acidity and body. Drink over the short term. I'll drink my last remaining bottle this year.

Nose and initial taste FULL of green apple. Strong citrus flavors. A bit hot on the initial attack but even more heat on the back end. Good acidity. Crisp. Not bad, but a bit overpriced for me with the slight imbalance of the fruit and alcohol.

Nice SB overall. More Apples and tropical fruit on the initail palate. The grapefruit doesnt hit you right in the face, but is noticable on the finish. Fairly light in color and feel. A nice wine but not worth the price imo. Just as nice SB's out there for half the price.

Crocker & Starr 2006 Sauvignon Blanc Napa Valley - $26.95 ** brought back to home to austin from our san diego vacation and opened with Ali when we got the kids down to bed. Clear pale golden yellow. Floral scents of perfumed flowers. Ali said it smelled like the Balinese flowers from amankila. This is a buttery SB. Alison detected peaches and pears. Very complex. I think it tastes close to a chardonnay. Long finish. Huge acidity and glycerine. What a winner. . 92 points.

Tasted June 10, 2007 at home. Opened and served immediately in a Spiegelau Authentis Weiss Wein glass. Light yellow color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of grass, grapefruit, tropical fruits, citrus fruits and maybe some peach. Flavors of light gooseberry notes, pears, apricots and peaches. Light acidity, light body. Much smoother than the 2005 was in the same timeframe, more like the 2004 vintage. Clocks in at 14.4% alcohol (identical to the 2005 vintage) but it’s barely noticeable if at all (unlike the 2005 vintage). Drink over the short term. Recommended as always at the direct from winery price of $28.00 per 750ml.

Consumed at Gary Dankos out of 375ml bottle. Nice light golden hue. A lot of green apples on the nose with some grass, not much. The midpalate has a nice sweetness to it but it is definitely sauvignon blanc. Went well with the risotto and lobster dishes. I like it but it's not that much better than the cheaper Kim Crawford S.B.

Nice typicity with grassy, citrus flavors with some floral notes and oak. Could you just a touch more acid for my palate to really complete this wine.
