Drack tills med grannarna på Lindholmsvägen. Vinet börjar få lite oxiderade toner. Mogna äpplen, torkade aprikoser, mandelmassa. Bra syra och lång eftersmak Gärna till en Cock au Vin

UWS Leap year dinner (@ CdW and KvdK): White fruits and caramel in the bouquet. Same on the palate, slightly sparkling, ripe and sweet fruits and also good acidity. Full bodied and tasty wine.
Light golden yellow. Tropical fruits and some mineral tones on the nose. White flowers. Rich, fruity style and somewhat oily texture. Balsamic with some honey. Good lenght. Holding out incredibly well and even better than when tasted five years ago! Great wine. Drink up within two years.

Christmas catch up lunch and drinks (E & M's in the rocks, Sydney): Honey and honeysuckle ride over a slight farmyard funkiness which lends a cow shit on the wind undertone with a little mushroom here as well. It's honeyed and fleshy rather than juicy on the palate, quite broad with a touch of bees wax consistency and a very slight citrus bitterness on the medium plus length.

A week ago, I might have written 90, but I am trying to use 85 as my "bottom line" for a wine I enjoy. I think our ratings are inflated so that less than 90 is seen as bad.
Putting all this aside, the wine was perfectly enjoyable. As some others have hinted/suggested it does benefit from a little time in the bottle or decanter. The first glass did tasted a bit oxidized, but that was not at all the case for the remainder of the bottle. Light, with a nice balance. Not over the hill, at least as far as my bottle and palate were concerned.

Skrukork. Åpnet 5 timer før konsum. Dekantert. Blomster og mineraler. Frisk munnfølelse, knusktørr. Men blir rikere etterhvert. Fet tekstur. Bra lengde. Holdt seg over flere dager. Føles veldig ung og knytt enda. Suveren til rødbestsalat. Drikk nå - 2025.

Screw cap. Needed a little bit of air to open up. Gooseberry and minerals dominates the nose. Some freshness on the palate. A bit heavy for my taste. Decent length. A slightly oxidative style. Either you like it or not. Great with chevre and a salad with red beet.

What a pleasant surprise, incredibly mineral, not unlike a les clos or a clos ste hune. I had a concern for premox but the color is light.
It displays a hint of honey hinting a residual sugar. The fruit is mostly citrus as the wine has settled. It is drinking incredibly well especially if you look for minerality and precision as the primary fruit has settled and the petrol yet to appear. If you don’t care for a hint of sugar in your dry white, this is not for you.
Paid $24 at PC. This along with the 05 QTC tells me that these are some of the best QPRs and not affected by premox.

Classic Savennieres. Stones, lean fruit flavours with great minerality. This wine brought an unusual collection of flavours on the plate together. At Marque with Makeral with smoked foie gras, lardon, mustard and gerkin.

I served this for a Chinese New Year feast and it was a crowd-pleaser! Color: Golden yellow. Aroma: Tropical fruit. Body: Medium. Taste: Weighty and concentrated with apple and honey with a mineral finish.

Pale yellow color. Fresh tropical fruit nose. Tastes of apple, pineapple and honey with a earthy minerality. Crisp with nice acidity. Initially the finish was a bit thin and medicinal but after some time in the glass the fruit picked up some weight and richness. Not as good as I remember last time but still a solid Chenin Blanc. 13% alcohol.

Tastes of green apples with an interesting chalky limestone minerality that adds some depth to the wine. Medium bodied. Crisp acidity with a rich sour apple finish. Great QPR. 13% alcohol.

Had a glass at Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels, paired with a tartine of ramps and fennel. What a treat to try aged Savennieres for the first time!

Note: I use a scale on which 85 represents a very good wine.
As suggested by the score, a very good bottle. No signs of age or oxidization, but no reason to tempt Fate.
