Sad occasion prompted decant of this bottle, the destruction of Behrens mail winery structure by the Glass Fire. Still vibrant, accompanied Tuscan roast pork very well. A toast raised to Les and company.

A bit on the spicey hot side, so the label fits. Still young, will be interesting to follow evolution. My experience with the ancestral Behrens and Hitchcock wines has been very inconsistent, so I was relieved at the quality here.

Unfortunately this wine was corked. Hey it happens, I didn't get the typical musty basement or wet concrete nose typical of TCA but the wine was definitely off. I have about 12 more bottles in the cellar so will be trying another one this weekend and report back.

The converse of the last bottle. Quiet nose, great spice and bright fruit on the finish, relative to a light almost table wine experience on the palate.

Quite a nice wine. Nose and first taste were exemplary. Great feel in the mouth with tastes of blueberries, currents and cassis. Quite smooth with a pleasant finish. Plenty of life left in this.

41% merlot, 23% cab franc, 18% cabernet sauvignon, 12% syrah, and 6% petit verdot. those intriguing stats are about all this wine has going for it. this wine is horrible. i could find a better red cali blend for $10. dark purplish color. this wine smells like laffy taffy on the nose, but not even that good. bitter tannins on the palate with fake, cherry kool-aid mix on the palate. no structure, no finish. i can't believe the price this retails for. i saw this for $70. unbelievable. avoid at all costs. robert parker was completely wrong on this one.

These Erna's were built to last! Delicious, smooth as velvet, short decant fine. Has more years ahead.

This wine is concentrated and full of rich, chewy black fruit.

Pretty good, but meh... Ripe fruit; weird finish - something missing that detracts from the balance

Candle wax and mushrooms on the nose. Strawberry and blackberry initial palate. Disappointing finish for such a rich fruit bomb.

Fruit bomb balanced by some decent acidity.

Definitely ready now. Great fruit and balance. While it's big, it was a bit more restrained than some other B&H / Erna Schein wines I've had.

Wow, This has gotten better than the others I've had over the years. Spring Mountain mint coming through.

Candied fruit that never quite reached a balance. Poor QPR.
