Tasted over 2 days. Initially very tannic, surprisingly so, with a ton of red berry and blueberry but an unforgiving nature. Not really tight, more monumental and dumb. Second day, a lot more developed, still bracing tannins and acidity but with a lot of fruit to justify it. I dunno — this was like a high powered villages burg in its structure, with very new world flavor profile. A real lesson for me in terms of how serious and also how surly in adolescence OR pinot can be. I don’t think this is anywhere near ready to drink. I am keeping the rest buried for years. Impressive more than enjoyable now, do not touch. High potential. Score: 92, a reasonably conservative guess as to where this will end up. Relative to expectations: ++, this could be really exciting in 5 years.

PNP Completely better than last bottle and completely devoid of sweetness. Nice acid, dry but filled with red fruits. I am a fan now. Very Burgundy like without the musty terroir or long lingering finish. Still very good,

Decanted an hour. I didn’t notice the ripeness in my first bottle. There is also lots of new oak. The wine is fine but it is more like a lighter style CA Santa Rita Hills Pinot than an Oregon PN. If you’re looking for something more Burgundy in style this isn’t it. It is still well made just more ripe in style. A bit too sweet for me.

1 hour decant to a pale ruby in glass. Aromas of cherry, pepper, and dry leaves. Palate of red cherry, oak, pepper, and baking spice with fine-grained, dusty tannins. A medium, crisp acidity clears to a long cherry and oak finish. The wine is well balanced. Hard to describe to the house label from same producer we had right before but maybe more precise and with a little more finesse? Enjoyed this bottle slightly more.

Decanted 45 minutes. Seems young still. Lots of Chambolle like red fruits. Wine for sure improved over the next hour. First experience with this winery but am totally happy with my purchase.

PnP. The nose on this bottle threw me straight to the holidays -- red fruit with pine and baking spice; potpourri. Bit shut down on the palate; good value.

Decanted 90 minutes. Medium light garnet in color. Red currants, red cherries, star anise, a bit of pine needles, a bit of cocoa, and fresh cut cedar. Medium light bodied and a lot of structure. The acidity profile builds up on the sip – starts off a bit flabby and then attacks right at the finish. Palate matches the nose exactly. Moderate tannins that are grippy and angular. Nice medium length acidic fruity finish that once again matches the palate.
It’s not usual for me to have a wine where the nose, palate, and finish pretty much all align for me. This is drinking well with a 90 minute decant. I suspect this wine needs a lot longer away given how fresh the oak tastes.

A bit of a disappointing showing. Perhaps this is too young still? Started out very closed, then with air it warmed up and opened up, but still in a fairly unbalanced way. Other vintages of this wine have really hit it out of the park.
Edit: this is showing much better on day 2, potentially confirming my suspicion. Will wait a couple of years to open the next bottle.

Showed very well with 3 hours of air. Was a touch thin/shut down prior to that. Lovely, floral nose and a smooth front, mid, and back. On the lighter side (medium minus). Best between 62 and 65 degrees.

Still very tight and gripping with tannins, a bit austere. Nice candy cherry jolly rancher type fruit, but not over the top fruity. Decanted for 2 hours before serving, but it was still pretty tight. It elevated to another level with food. Hold for 5 years.

Clear garnet in the glass with a nose that is fresh and pretty, cranberry with a toasty note.
On the palate the wine enters the palate that is fresh, light, and lithe. It slowly opens to a more expressive experience with strawberry, cranberry, tea, and violet. Soft to medium tannins, medium acidity from the mid-palate, long finish. Another beautiful wine from FB.

Nose of peat smoke and cherries. Good acidity and fine sand tannins. Well structured and should hold up to more aging. A little thick on the tannins now, but should be perfect in a few years. If you want to drink yours early, I recommend a short decant.

Medium garnet in the glass; aromatic with cherry, cassis, saline on the nose. More of the same on the palate — plush cherry enrobed in a savory, velvety mouth feel. Long finish without bitterness. Plenty of acid but still has structure and sufficient tannic backbone. Really pretty wine - paired well with tomato bisque and warm mushroom salad. Looking forward to more. Delicious. 13.8 abv.

Popped and poured. Over the first hour or so it took a bit of coaxing to bring the flavors to the fore...opened up more after a couple hours open.

Well made wine, very crisp acidity which other notes mention. Finish fell a little flat for me, maybe I needed to give it more air.

Brought to a local steakhouse and shared with the somm. We both loved it. Very nice light bodied pinot with crisp acidity and nice balance.

Just delicious. The first day was more open than the second. I’d say this is about to enter a long sleep…
