  • Nez de fruits blancs, touche de miel, bouche équilibrée avec assez d’acidité pour supporter une certaine richesse pour ce cru, belle longueur et superbe texture. 92-93

White fruit and a touch of honey, good balance and just enough acidity to support a slight richness for the cru, but still gorgeous, good length and beautiful texture.

  • Mainly Meursaults: Made in a new-school reductive style but that didn't quite gel with the warmer vintage characteristics of exotic fruit and overt alcohol notes. Still too much baby fat and a little simple for the pedigree of the plot, no one was in Perrieres for this. Needs more time.

  • Expressive nose displaying ripe yellow fruit, lemon curd, a hint of pineapple, honeysuckle, beeswax, spicy spices, saline and limestone. Excellent concentration, layers upon layered of ripe concentrated yellow fruit, rich and ripe but also showing excellent focus and precision, bright acidity and strong limestone mineral, and a long ripe yellow fruit driven finish with beeswax and spicy spices at the end. This shed a bit of fruit, showing better balance and precision. Now, it taste like Perrieres.

  • Expressive nose displaying decadent yellow fruit with a hint of white, lemon curd, apple, pineapple, honeysuckle, spicy spices and a hint of limestone. Excellent concentration, finely layered concentrated ripe yellow fruit, rich and oily, good balance, bright acidity, strong limestone mineral, and a long ripe yellow fruit driven finish with spicy spices and light caramel at the end. This clearly expresses the ripe vintage character but still maintains a very good balance. Perhaps another decade of cellaring will lessen the ripe fruit expression.

  • Napa and Bordeaux gathering (Clarity - Vienna, Virginia): I opened the last bottle in December of last year right after arriving via air from France. This is a lot more expressive and impressive. Very focused nose displaying succulent yellow fruit with a hint of white, lemon curd, apple, white peach, honey and limestone. Very good concentration, finely layered ripe yellow fruit, rich and ripe yet good focus, freshness and precision, bright acidity and good mineral presence, and a long succulent yellow fruit driven finish. This is a classic Perrieres, showing much better balance and freshness compare to the last bottle.

  • Pure and precise notes of citrus and apples. Saline. Like many other Meursault Perrières in 2018, minerality balances the ripe fruit. Backward and not giving much today, but it’s hard not to notice the energy in this wine. 93+

Interestingly, I found that this wine enhances and brings to focus the qualities of other wines that you drink after it. A 2018 Morey-Coffinet Meursault Perrières started to show intense notes of tangerines and orange peel, and the lime notes in a 2018 Latour-Giraud Meursault Perrières really started to shine. In any case, this was the most restrained of the three.

  • Medium expressive nose displaying very ripe yellow fruit with a hint of white, yellow peach, pineapple, a hint of lemon candy, sweet spices, honey and a hint of mineral. There is a hint of alcohol. Very good concentration, packed very ripe yellow fruit, rich and sweet, good acidity, not showing Perrieres mineral and a medium long very ripe yellow fruit driven finish. There is a hint of alcohol at the end. It clearly expresses the 18 vintage. I drank this over three days hoping that it will become more precise with air. Unfortunately it remains a bit too ripe for my palate.
