Used most of the bottle for beef bourguignon but had a couple glasses left. Very backward but seemed to be improving as it opened up. It had a nice crystalline body but it never really shook off a medicinal bitterness that kind of overwhelmed the palate for me. I don’t think it was flawed, maybe it just needs more time or a vigorous decant?

Dark crushed blackberry and wet mud on the nose. Light body with tart cherry and earthy tones on the palate with a hint of pepper. Finishes dry and tart with an aftertaste that lingers a bit!

Medium ruby, dark berries, earth, leather – not aromatically intense but there is a lot of complexity here. On the palate, dry, nice balance of tannin and acid. Cranberry notes, a hint of plum and lemon - firm, structured tannins. A really pleasant and long-lasting finish – lemons and cranberries that linger. Right at the back of your throat! This is a rich and elegant wine. An interesting iteration of Pinot Noir – a particularly German flavor. Bolder than a typical Pinot, would pair well with lamb or even beef. Drinks well now and likely to improve with age.

A pale red wine. Very strong notes of strawberry, red currants, rhubarb, hints of cedar on the nose. Very pleasant.
Light, clean body, red fruits, strawberry, peppercorns. While indicative of the grape and style, possibly a little too light, too pale compared to other vintages I've had.
Medium light finish, some spice and hints of bitter chocolate, raspberries.

In the zone. Black cherry, a little smoke, minerals and spice. Satiny mouthfeel, medium-long finish.

Wine Night in Charlotte -- Cork Vault Bottle Share Returns! (Charlotte, NC): Smooth, soft earthiness, and rich red berry flavors with a hint of spice. Elegant more so than opulent as you may expect in its youth. A fantastic QPR and new wine for me that I expect to revisit.
