Champagne, Riesling, and Bordeaux with Skippy (Chicago, IL): Getting long in the tooth. Again fairly classic old champagne flavours here, with some nutty elements and browned apples. The palate displays a surprising amount of freshness from the acidity, but the fizz is weak and tapers off pretty quickly. The palate's umami is provided by a mild touch of mushroom broth. Not my preferred age for champagne.

Was purchased on release and impeccably stored. True yellow with remarkably fresh texture and the effervescence of a babe. Vanilla bean and lemon curd; some oxidization. She filled out and got friendlier with 30 minutes' air.

Typical of old champagne, which can be off-putting to some. Starting to be tired, few bubbles left, great orange and coffee aromas with a hint of oxidation.

London Italian Blowout.. 24 Tn's: (London): Slightly acidic with a breadbox nose...Delicious with ripe fruit and yeasty undertones. Classic vintage Champagne with a bit less cream than the typical Krug vintage 85 and 88 I am used to drinki9ng. I wouldn't kick it out of bed any night of the week..

Medium yellow. Minimal mousse. Caramel and vanilla. Medium weight. Excellent acidity. Fully mature, marvelous wine.

Fine. Minimalist bubbles. Toasty, lemony and classy. Lots of bite; a little too acidic for me.
