The densest and most concentrated Amarone I’ve tried, but so is the monumental tannic structure. They green harvest twice, takes 6-7 vines to make a single bottle. Blend of 55% Corvina, 15% Rondinella, 15% Croatina, 10% Oseleta & 5% Corvinone, 70-90 days of drying, 24 months in new US oak. Explosive intensity of kirsch, chocolate, liquorice, roasted herbal, prunes, potpourri, cigar box. Full body, dense and opulent but lighter than 2016, explosive and multidimensional, mid light acidity, sandy high grip tannins.

This wine suffered when compared with all the old Amarones we had of the night - still could use some age on it to round it out some more, but a really lovely big bold wine.

Produced with 60% Corvina grapes, 20% Rondinella grapes, 10% Oseleta grapes and 10% Croatina grapes.
Nose: intense bouquet that opens with notes of overripe black fruit, embellished with hints of licorice, moka, leather, pepper and cocoa, enriched with pleasant fruity notes of plums and cherries.
On the palate it is enveloping, intensely aromatic and pleasantly soft, with strong but elegant tannins. Nuances of truffle, tobacco and new leather wrap around the finish.
The taste is full-bodied and generous, with a velvety and smooth tannic texture and has a superb and fascinating finish.

This wine is a flawless dream. I decanted for only 1.5 hours and it rapidly opened up to a dark, brooding bouquet of fruit and tar on the nose. I used my wine scent kit from Les Nez du Vin for the assist on the tasting notes. I was surprised by the incredible flavors of quince, black currant, prune, walnut, bell pepper, peppercorn, caramel and acacia. I will seek more bottles of this wherever possible.

Intensely dense both on the nose and on the palate. Rich dark fruit, blackberries, black cherries, mocha coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla extract and baked raisins. Full bodied, pronounced alcohol warmth, rich, generous fruit, but not overly sweet. A bit of tannins, but in no way rough. High intensity and a long finish.
Impressive wine for sure, though i find it lacks a bit of nuances and blind could have ended up guessing a california cult syrah or an Australian presrige Barossa.

A huge wine, of course, but nothing overdone and nothing out of place as it carries it's high alcohol with ease and grace. The texture is silky smooth like liquid velvet with a certain creaminess and well-hidden balancing acidity. It's a layered wine with great flavors of dark black cherry, tar and smoky-sweet raisins and it has great power and intensity with lots of depth. The finish very fine with big but smooth tannins. This is a joy to drink now but it's still a baby in terms of its development and complexity. 95+

Matter of Taste, Amarone Masterclass. Deep purple. A big wine. Rich and concentrated. Intense flavors of sweet dark fruit. Not as fruit forward as the 2011. More dry than sweet though. Nicely balanced with good acidity. Good length on the finish. Alcohol well integrated, did not taste the 17% alcohol.

This is a death star wine--dark, dense, brooding, and totally awesome. Young and massive but extremely complex, with tannins, big black fruit, and endless length. Needs a decade or three.

Dark Ruby red. Great concentration. High intensity nose. Perfumed black and red fruits, cassis, blackberry, nutmeg, Cinammon, concentrated fruits. Hint of cedar and vanilla. Dimensional palate with full body, incredibly high Acidity and nice soft tannins. Again black fruits, sweet cherry, chocolate, caramel. Long long long aftertaste. Giant.!!

Had this on recommendation at an Italian restaurant. It killed my budget, but was a brilliant wine that offered waves of palate-pleasing complexity. Can't wait to have this again, as it was truly special.

This has a bit more freshness than the 2009, with cherry skin, locorice, tar, super silky entry, rich, supple huge tannins, much drier than the '09, a bit more lift too. Both good, showing very different vintage character. Right now probably prefer the '09 which suits Amarone.

Very very dark and glossy in colour. Smoky oak, super concentrated, candied, jammy cherries and dark berries. Floral notes, sweet spices, licquorice. On the palate very intense and big, rich, sweet, powerful, but there is plenty of acidity, too. Well integrated alcohol. The tannins are a bit obtrusive at this stage. Very long and lingering. A massive, hedonistic wine that somehow manages to come across quite balanced. This obviously needs some time in the cellar. 94-95+

Just two words: pure strength and elegance.
Dark Ruby color, very intense and impenetrable.

MoT Masterclass - Gems of Amarone and Valpolicella (Singapore): Very similar to the 2011, may be even a touch richer and more porty. Dense, brooding tannic. Lots of smoke and meat, tannic. Needs lots of time but will be a great Amarone.
