drinking well young, but will bring more harmony with some age. right now, nice blueberry note, like in a fresh blueberry muffin, with red plum; a mild meaty note, and dried herbs. has a dark finish with a black tea note. intriguing now; I have 3 more and can't wait to see how it develops in 2-3 years

Decanted for almost two hours. Dark color and dark fruit on palate. Earth and smoke. Good weight on body and decent finish. Definitely needed the decant.

Quick decant. Nose of dark fruit, leather, smoke, black olive, and oak. Palate shows black plum, iron, raspberry tea, milk chocolate, and lots of schist and minerals. A line of graphite tannins marking the finish are quite taut, amplifying the iron and adding gravel and darker chocolate with a light black pepper note. Drinking well now.

90 minute decant. Nose of black cherry, potter's clay, asphalt, and blueberries. Dark black fruit palate with raw meat, dried herbs, black tea, and rocky notes. Finish delivers white pepper, super-dry tannins, blueberry, graphite, and oak.

Really sensational with 2 hours in the decanter. Same notes apply to this bottle that was paired with the flannery burgers. Punches way above its price point. Beautiful satiny texture with great depth

To echo other recent comments this will likely benefit from more time. Medium purple, a bit restrained on the nose and closed on the palate. Blue fruits and some herbal notes, a little hot. I would put this away for a while.

A good Syrah with herbal notes and a little green pepper with cherry and spice after an hour decant. I’m aligned with the other tasters who see another year or two in bottle.

Decanted for 1 hour and went nicely with grill lamb chops. Needs a few more years in the bottle or a longer decant. Notes of herbs, dark fruit, and pepper.

Decanted for 4 hours, nose of rubber and cigar box, tannins we're soft but very present. Needs more time in the bottle as it's still mostly showing the dark fruit. No tertiary character yet.

This is a snappy and higher toned Syrah. Fresh and fruity, with good herbal and spice notes. Some development ahead but in a fine spot for early drinking. Agree with previous note about some heat on the nose; I've notice that in the last few Bedrock Syrahs I've opened.

This was a mixed bag for me. There are some great cooler-climate syrah notes of iodine, iron, blackberry, and herbs, with moderate oak adding some spice and perfume. However, the heat is a little distracting and detracts from the enjoyment.

Original note below. However, now that my mouth is coated, this is delicious. Beautifully dark with all the savory notes you want in a serious Syrah. Really nice drinking
Edited above, original note: Well built but heavy oak presence even after 6 hours decanted...will keep following

Really enjoyable Syrah. A lot going on, meaty, fruity, peppery, but all in great balance. Especially for how young it is. Maybe because its a blend of a few different vineyards spread across CA? In any case, you won't regret opening one now ... except of course when you don't have that bottle five or ten years from now! Glad I did, but I'll hold my other 2 for a while.
If I was limited to one producer and one varietal for the rest of my life, I'd be hard-pressed to think of a choice I'd be happier with than Bedrock Syrahs. They're just a pleasure to drink.
Totally agree with Nutty08. Great, and seldom seen, balance with the savory pepper and beef notes mixed with plush purple fruit. Surprisingly cohesive with enough structure to carry it out to 2030. Enjoy now for the cracked pepper, roasted meat, and plum notes.

Impressive from the start, didn’t need much air. Has a clear savory core, with crackling pepper notes mixed with typical purple fruit. Palate shows some coarse tannin. The savory meaty qualities give this a rather rustic unpolished feel for CA—but the complexity and balance is clearly there. Fantastic. Hold for a couple years to smooth the texture/tannins a bit.

Ripe red and blue fruits, grilled steak, clove, vanilla, rhubarb, great balance and purity. Wish I had more than one…
