  • Tangy and bright, autumnal and brooding, peppery and lifted, this is in a good spot, but still has room to improve.

Aromas of pomegranate molasses, blackberry, dark cherry, autumn leaves, cigar box, black olive and peppercorn, paprika and violets... Tart and lively on the palate, a little something tertiary, but this is still quite fresh and feels young, fine tannins and zippy acids drive the finish, a little something roasted and vegetal pops up as everything fades. Probably just a few years away from turning the corner to gorgeous maturity.

On day two the fruit is brighter, now raspberry joins the mix, and the flowers and spice are integrated so nicely. Yea, I'd say wait a few more years for this to come together.

  • On opening (and a brief somewhat vigorous decant) very tight with punishing acidity, but a strong sense that quality lurked, and an interesting spicy note...but perhaps I had opened it way too young. Day 2 a huge transformation - gorgeous- a lovely sappy red fruited core, everything now in balance and singing, subtle spice, harmony, delicacy with latent power. if anything this exceeded my expectations. Very nice value at 40-50 Euros, secondary market prices IDK - I've had much less charming and satisfying wines for thrice the price...and this is but a baby (who is very responsive to a long decant).

  • Grippy tannins but muted nose and a very muted palate - really not sure this is going to evolve much

  • Fantastic now, will really be something in 10 years.

  • Pretty fantastic specimen for aging. This bottle showed red fruits like pomegranate, black olive, pressed violet florals, with some rustic animal notes. Bright acidity and intensity makes this a wonderful candidate for the cellar

  • Shows a real sense of density without weight. Finely drawn and pure red fruit, predominately tart cherry. Very fine but persistent and chalky tannins. I'm not sure of the actual terroir here, but it really has the sense of being a limestone wine. Some floral and more stone notes but it is really about that note of fruit. This seems a bit more coiled and redder than my last bottle. It'll be interesting to see how this evolves.

  • Superb Cabernet Franc! I can't say I've had better. This is a showstopper tonight. Aromas of cassis, dark cherry, wild blueberry, dark chocolate, cigar, walnut oil, thyme, iris, purple vitamins, turmeric, a little fresh roasted coffee... almost full-bodied, velvety and tart at once, there is great texture and cut, sweet dark fruit coats the palate before it turns firmly dry and filled with gorgeous earthy and herbal tones. Elegant, complex and very long, layers of fruit, crunchy and tart through sweet and juicy, linger alongside tobacco, spice, blue flower and raw cacao notes. This is in a good spot, but it should evolve positively for many years. Might be at its best in a decade or so.

  • This was really impressive. Deeply pitched dark berry and pitted fruits shaped by an underlying steel structure of tannin and acid. The kind of fruit where the aftertaste leaves hints of skins and pits. I think this wine has a chance to be really fabulous and is just showing hints of its potential.
