Celebrating my wife’s birthday@ L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon – Hong Kong
Restaurant is a bit dark so cannot see clearly the colour. Probably light garnet. Nose is a bit subtle, it’s pronounced but unlike the prieure roch’s style that is in your face floral aroma. The palate is amazing, balanced, deep, complex, red currant, floral, truffle, nectar. The mouth feel is like the finest silk with perfect harmony. The finish, wow, lasts for 5 minutes at least, and will not go away.
Only 998 bottles produced. It’s perfectly ready so drink up if you have one.

94 pts

wood still present on the nose when the first glass was poured. That blew off after 30 minutes and primary fruit comes to the front - boysenberry, cranberry, green leaves, white flower, and linen; a feminine nose filled with energy. The taste is mostly front palate at this stage in it's development, but the balance is impressive and the flavors are very clean. The flavors run front-to-back with a light mouthfeel and lingering taste for 30+ seconds...an impressive Clos St Denis that is very young now - want to try it in 10 years time!

JM Paulee. Magnum. Hedonistic, opulent. More expressive than Roche.

Burghound Symposium Asia - Clos Saint- Denis vs. Clos de la Roche dinner (Hong Kong): Oxidative nose, Maggy, meh! Luckily the palate was much better, the oxidation was much less present but a candy note points to very late picking. No so much my style. Luckily there is enough acidity, so drinkability is good.

2002 dinner. Most delicate Ponsot I've had, quite complex, nuanced. Balanced, sweet, Chambolle-like.

Gonna be great with time. Somewhat closed right now. Leave alone for a decade or more.
