Drinking great. 3.5 hours open before drinking. Had with a filet mignon with mushrooms and creamed spinach.
Chalky tannins. Old library dust. I thought maybe a hint of ribena, but my wife was not convinced.
Great nose.
Another Anthony Yount production. I drank this at the same time as 2020 Royal Nonesuch Red. Different wines but both were great. The tannins in the Denner held up better with food.
The 2018 is a winner!

A lot of youthful Syrah notes, and even a bit funky. The notes are green, black and funky fruit on the nose. The palate however is a bit more "smoothed over" displaying black fruit, black olive, green olive, green pepper, and even a bit of fennel. This wine did have a roasted character to it, but the Cote Rotie definitely beat it at its game. This Central Coast wine despite its attempts to display an old world character was decidedly "new world" compared to the Guigal Cote Rotie La Turque. The wine finishes with a healthy dose of black pepper. Served En Magnum, I think this wine was mostly asleep and perhaps a touch disjointed, but went very well with the red meat / game dishes served at tonight's function. This wine needs probably 5 years En Magnum. This wine paired the best with the TriTip Burnt ends Mac and Cheese more than anything, as there were other wines that had more age and in smaller formats. This wine needs another 10 years En Magnum to develop more character, but was a nice contrast to the old world and Aussie Syrahs on the table.

Concentrated and deep delivering blackberry, plum, black pepper and cured meat. Very rich and layered. Full bodied, medium acidity and medium grained tannins. Good winemaking here. NI:4, FI:23, FC:8, B:4, L:3

These wines are always monsters and we always forget how much we like them. This was in a great window. Dark fruit, leather, tobacco with some spice at the end. Let it sit in the glass for an hour and it was humming. Only got better with more time. Drinking wonderfully now and will only get better with more time.

Absolutely scrumptious with smoked prime rib tonight at a restaurant. Wow! Also went well with roasted Brussels sprouts, wedge salad, mashed potatoes and broccoli. Well balanced, silky smooth with delicious fruit. Also great all on its own. We look forward to visiting Denner again and buying more of this wine.

Big wine , lots going on, herbal bouquet ,dark color, complex flavors with acid and smooth tannins, spicy masks alcohol , drank with rack of lamb and spinach pie with eggplant, 14.3% abv, Denner wines are over the top, not easy drinking but quite enjoyable , will drink again but maybe next vintage .

Dark red color, enticing bouquet of fruit, spice and smoke, Lots of complex fruit flavors, balanced, drank easily, a crowd pleaser, this is what Denner is about, drank with fish stew with monkfish, swordfish, clams, and shrimp in a tomato saffron broth with kale, chickpeas and chorizo, long finish, will drink again.

Great fruity bouquet, taste has more tannin than bouquet leads you to expect, good balance, lots of complex flavors, drank with flank steak, will drink again, a big wine that drinks smaller.

One of the best syrahs I've had...super delicate, feminine, exquisite and gentle...finesse at its best...soft layering of purple plum fruit...if I had to be critical, maybe the finish could have been longer...98% Syrah, 1% Rousanne, 1% viognier. Artisan craftsmanship at its best.

Dark inky color. Nose of violet, blackberry, paprika, slightly more fruity than savory. Palate is deep blue/black fruit, floral, some acidity, medium tannins, with savory green olive undertones. Outstanding wine! Cellar at least 6-8 years.

Dark color, nice bouquet that portended taste to come, pure complex fruit taste with tannins in the background, tannins became a bit more pronounced as we drank with is a good thing as the wine never became heavy or grapey, medium bodied, drank easily and went very well with grilled swordfish with brown rice paella with clams and chorizo, will drink again, this is type of wine that Denner does so well.

Very tight. Decant for at least 1 hour. Better yet, let it sit for a couple of years as it is very young.
