  • Nothing reminiscent of pinot noir and nothing pleasurable. Slightly bitter red table wine, nothing more. Over the hill (already?!) or bad bottle? I don't know, but I will be giving these away if the next bottle is not 180 different.

  • A slurper. A medium density, hearty Pinot Noir that I believe most people would enjoy. The wine is substantial and round. I don't recall what I paid for this. I only know that the price was reasonable and now, I'm so glad the wine is in my glass. Thank you Cameron Hughes!

  • PnP’d from cellar, er, basement at 63 degrees. Initially light weight but pleasant. Put on weight in the glass and was starting to show by the end of the glass. Left in decanter overnight at room temp and the wine continued its evolution from the previous night. Red fruits, fine tannins and a medium-long finish. Good on its own or with a pasta dish. For drinking in the near future decant for at least an hour, and longer is better. Another great value from dN.

  • Fantastic wine! My wife and I loved it! Newbie on dN, but so far the best one I've tried. I would buy again but it seems sold out....

  • I would say this a bit more ripe and vibrant than typical WV Pinot noir. Nose of fresh, bright red and blue fruits and a decent amount of oak. Relatively calm entry with bright fruits and a noticeable wood. Medium+ finish. A tad astringent.

Overall, a nice wine but somewhat non-descript; it screams new world, but the underlying fruit is high quality, if used in a less than moderate barrell regime

Day 2: the fruit is a bit more candied, the oak has settled, and there’s a bit more bling spice. Pleasant wine, but not one to go deep on.

  • Decanted for 30min and followed over time.

Expressive nose of funky wild berries (raspberry, strawberry) supported by very supple oak underneath, touch of black tea. Palate is nicely unwound and open for business. Medium light body and gentle acidity. Fresh ripe berries, light herbal freshness, a touch of oak, nice structure that gives a soft rocky mineral character. Finish shows that same structure, graham cracker toffee oak, also some pungent ripe raspberries.

Definitely a modern Pinot, borderline too much oak at this stage, borderline overripe for my preference. Agree with Cam this is not terroir driven, and you could fool me that this is Beaujolais with all its ripe fruit and pungency.

Drink now with room for improvement over the next 3-5 years. Hopefully the oak will absorb and smooth out. Solid 90.

Day 2: half the bottle in fridge overnight and generally consistent. Less oak on the finish today. Definitely modern pinot.

  • This was very good and I found it to be true to Cam's notes, and very typical for a PN.
Has the funk and flavors that are expected, and pairs well with an array of foods.
Consistent with prior notes for me.

  • Didnt like it very much. Tasted super dark and Modern almost like a non pinot

  • When I first got this I liked it and reloaded. Lately it's been too big, Syrah like in a way I don't care for. Recently had a glass, recorked and refrigerated over night. Much better on day 2. So, assume either long decant or wait.

  • Didn’t like it as much as the n.70 series but it might get their with time. Nice earth flavors and smells that’s a bit more modern but still not California.
Finish had some astringency from potentially higher alcohol content.

Good value and it continued to improve on day 2

  • an ethereal perfume of light purple violets, white flowers to bacon fat; purple ruby on the rim, smoothly integrated black cherry and raspberry fruits; although fruit forward recedes a bit behind generous though soft tannins. Fruity in a primary sense with a slight sweetness on the finish; this beautiful Pinot will benefit from another six months/one year in the cellar although very approachable now; the structure of this Pinot suggests several years of improvement as excellent levels of soft tannins and acidity. Yeowwwwww!

slo-oxed 4 hours, Grassl cru, 58 degrees, exquisitely matched with salmon off the grill and a honey bacon salad

  • Red Hots on the nose, sweet black fruit on the palate, saline finish. Medium acid, medium body. Very nice even as a PnP. Will update on night 2 if it changes.

  • Aerated and decanted for 2 hours. Nice fruit with little flaws. Built up texture over a few hours. Great value and good cellar defender.

  • PnP and had with pizza.nit your typical WV Pinot profile Dark red fruit, fruit forward. Medium to plus body. But really good. An absolute steal at the $12 per bottle price we paid. If it shows up again at near that price I will be all over it.

  • Just not a $15 Pinot Noir. Glad I reloaded

  • This was really good - very typical PN.. nice forest, barnyard aromas, not crazy stinky. Light in color & body, it was ideal as a starter alone. A bit fresh and juicy/mouth watering. It was crystal clear, ruby red in color, nice medium- long finish. Very good and very happy with this wine.
At $10 it was a steal. If I had only known when I purchased the initial case, I would have bought more!

  • Baking spice, pepper corns, vanilla (savory on the nose ). Not quite ripe dark berry, still chart points, medium minus acid, medium alcohol (seems high for a Pinot), fine light tannins, disappointing finishing… missing something on that back end.

  • Drank over 2 days, notes from day 2. Ripe blackberry, black cherry over a bed of wet leaves. There’s a tiny bit of a bitter tinge to the acidity on the medium/medium+ finish that I can’t quite articulate.

A solid effort. Enjoyable, but not my favorite DN Pinot so far.

Forgive my uneducated notes, trying to be more disciplined with my tasting.

  • PnP'ed to see what we had here. Mild aromatics and generally thin flavor on day 1. Closed it up and let it sit for two days. What a revelation! Much better on the nose, open, complex flavors and just a pleasurable drink. Gives some idea as to where this is headed. Will try to lay off for a while, but if you're tempted to drink it now, then do the double decant recommended by Cam, letting it aerate 1-2 hours and then pouring back in the bottle and waiting a day or two. Your patience will be rewarded.

  • This was good and continued to get better over a few days. Although not terribly aromatic to me, it was pleasant to drink and went better with food than on it's own.

It's light body and has the characteristics of a solid PN.
Certainly smooth to drink and for the price, a decent wine to have with food. I suspect that this may need to sit for a while to really get the aromas that are expected from a WV pinot.
