clear medium garnet, medium watery rim, developing
nose is clean, wild strawberry, dusty, cherries or cherrie candy, developing
palate is dry, medium chalky tannins, medium alcohol, body andflavour intensity with aromas of wild strawberry, cherries, mineralic finish which is medium, a step down from the Naoussa alta
Well balanced, very well structured, medium finish and lacks complexity, concentration is solid though, very good wine 86-87p

Pale ruby colour. Medium (+) and developing nose with raspberry, strawberry, mushrooms, wet leaves and forest floor. Medium taste of raspberry, strawberry, mushrooms, wet leaves and forest floor. Long and dry finish. High acidity. Medium tannins. Medium body. A very good Naoussa Xinomavro that shows the aging potential. Drink now or over the next couple of years. Goes well with duck, mushrooms, pork or veal.

Rubied; muffled spicy fruit on nose, broad; flavour packed palate, heightened acidity, mid-weight; crisp finish, with an attractive rustic bite. Probably best drunk soon.

Artisans of the Wine Galaxy (Upstairs at the Dolphin Hotel): Savoury, meaty, earthy, black hued fruit, a little liquorice, slight wild bramble here as well. Juicy with a slightly sour underpin, medium minus intensity chalky tannins, sour black hued fruits travel long. Not for me but I could see this working in certain circumstances...

Young and fresh as it’s designed to be and even a year older since we had it last ( Papies 91) still at same level. Pretty and welcoming , granted not the most complex of his offerings but every part as good and joyful. Easy 90

True to style. Better with a very slight chill to it. Simple red fruits, purity of flavour, with a hint of tannin and no more at the end but sweet fruit too. Not complex but very enjoyable.

First Xinomavro at home. Ruby red and translucent in the glass. Nose is spicy, herbs and red fruits, cherries and raspberries. Palate is piquant, medium-bodied, vivid acidity, backbone tannins for structure, Good bitter red fruit. Finishes acidic-dry, again spicy. No oak. More Etna than Piemonte/Burgundy in my view. Xinomavro Day 2021.

I'd heard talk there'd been a revolution in Greek wine. This wine...case in point!
N...crushed red currents, white pepper, Gamay-like fruit, some raspberries, medium intensity only
C....light-medium body, clear light red wine, alc legs down side of glass
T.....gentle tannins, juicy mouth-feel, fun classy red wine; medium-dry in style; raspberry fruit, some bitter strawberry; some red plum, feels like a classy dry Beaujolais; lush and ripe and soft but with just enough acid to balance, a touch of the Med's summer dry herbs too.
VFM?.....feels like a classy £20.00 red yet costs £11.50. Utter bargain, Greek reds have arrived! Off to buy more of this 2019.

Pnp. Vinen lukter friske jordbær, bringebær, snev av morell og noe floralt som i Lux håndsåpe (med franske roser og mandelolje). Vinen smaker som den lukter, med hint av grønne toner. Veldig frisk i nese og munn. Medium minus konsentrasjon og tannin, medium pluss syre. Vinen føles enkel, men sjarmerende. Sikkert perfekt utendørs, uten mat i aftensol, 84p.

Lightweight, spicy, fresh and exciting. A great summer red.
Interesting to taste this side by side with the 2019 Sandlands Cinsault. The two wines have similar weight, color and structure. Thymiopoulos shows more fruit and a bit more tannin but there is a lot in common.

This albeit not his best wine just shows the skill of the master winemaker that Apostolos Thymiopoulos is. A young wine from young vines, fresh and bright, bright red fruits, bright in colour too. Soft and not pushed, lots of energy and albeit it lacks depth of flavour this is not a simple wine nor does it lack charm. Really good and makes the absolute max from what is given to play with. 91
Fruity and delicious. Morello cherries and a dash of spice. Really opens up in the glass. A bargain. Only my second bottle of this but surely there is more in my future. Opened with this red when some friends came round and wandered round the garden with it whilst poking the charcoal from time to time. A BBQ summer session red par excellence I reckon - relatively low alcohol levels make a nice change from blockbuster southern Rhones.

Delicious slightly chilled as a little on the rustic side, this tames the tannins. Incredibly easy to drink, with or without food. Juicy - lip-smackingly juicy dark cherries and a floral taste that kind of put me in mind of Gamay whilst clearly not being that at all. No depth here but who cares - a yummy bargain.

Greece Wine Zoom tasting. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of ripe red cherries, leafy earth, dusty stoney minerality. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13%), medium tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of strawberry, blood orange, ripe red cherries, stony earth minerality, some salt background. Long finish. Very good quality. Considering that this is only the young vines...May even have some upside with more age. "Burgundian" and isn't Xinomavro a tannic varietal? This truly shows how elegant it can be.

A bit of reduction to start with which blows off fairly quickly. Good cherry and plum fruit, tannins push through a bit. Great qpr. I would think a few more months in bottle would help this settle down a bit more

Greek fun (Vini Divini, Sydney): Red berries, slight plum, both showing slight sour on the nose, touch of whole bunch jubey/stalkiness. In the mouth, juicy, spicy, grippy tannins, red fruit, a little non-intrusive alcohol on the finish. Okay.

Nose: medium complex aromas of fresh raspberries, herbs and tomato Leaves. Mouth: high rustic acid, dry, medium alcohol and medium- body, medium+ fruit concentration and a lively length inspired by the naturally fermented yeast. Conclusion: it’s juicy and has the attitude of a garnacha but with less alcohol and instead driven by being spontaneously fermented. Vibrant finish and a super good fruit concentration for the price
