superb as usual. Dense and oxidative, red apples, touch of honey, vinous body building to a long finish. Penetrating acidity. I agree with the quality and I like the bottle, just very unsure about the secondary market pricing for them.

Dinner meetup with paired wines. Champagne flight tasted blind. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Appearance is cloudy, medium intensity, pinky gold colour. Thin legs. Fine persistent bubbles. Nose medium+ intensity, with aromas of brioche, kumquats, chalk minerals, very faint oxidative hint. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium- alcohol (12.5%), medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of kumquats, orange peel, white peach, chalky minerals, crushed lime stone. Long finish. Very very good quality. Feels so very fresh and vital. Guessed correctly as a 100% Pinot Meunier. Exciting stuff.

Took 30 mins to open up, as initially it was cold and closed. Warming up a bit, the rich fruit shows. Energetic, juicy, easy to drink. Too expensive on retail nowadays, but love the producer.

Very fresh, very Meunier. Pear, Quince, tart finish, just off being strict. Has some fat to the mid palate. From ripe fruit, extra brut shows in the finish. Really interesting.

Lovely, floral nose with jasmine, ginger, and stone fruit notes. The mousse is creamy, yet delicate, with good acidity and flavors of citrus, lemon, and minerals on the palate. Long finish. Amazing Champagne!

The Host with the Prevost: Tasted in a flight of Prevost whites of 2019 Grand Cru, 2016 Beguines, and 2018 Ampersand.
Brought by Eric, sourced from Golden 8 Wines. Whoa, liked this 2018 Ampersand way more than I thought I would (being purchased fruit and all). Love the toastiness on the nose, which the other whites didn't have. Super approachable with balanced minerality and some tasty fruit. The toasty note and easy drinking did it for me.

While this was enjoyable, it drank like a $50 grower champagne. Poor qpr here and didn’t really live up the Prevost name. Consumed over 2 days. Air and time made minimal impact, which was a bit odd. Thought it would show more the following day.

Slightly darker gold color, and even just the faintest hint of a pink/salmon color. Bigger than the Beguines but very interesting in its own right. Red apple, some bread notes. Unique and good.

Really delicious and a fatter version of Les Beguines. Red apple, raspberry, toast and mineral. Borderline sweet and syrupy. Dark at cellar temperature.

Red apple skin, sea brine, rye bread. Maybe it’s psychological but I can’t escape the idea that Les Beguines is a bit more precise. Still fabulous wine

20% Les Beguines 2017 vintage 80% 2018 vintgae deriving from other sites in Gueux that share the same sandy soils. (Prévost farms some of the sites and determines the date of harvest and sorting)
Lighter than his Les Beguines 2018 but Enjoyable

First year bottling, with some negoce fruit, blended with Beguines's Pinot Meunier. Slight rose color. Bright apple fruit, and lots of energetic acidity.

Pours with a slight pink, bordering on rose color. This is insanely good from pop and pour. Loads of ripe delicious berry goodness, super sweet bruised red apple, perfect tension with the acid. The finish stays with you for over a minute. This is beautiful, will be getting more.
A few hours in and it’s a bomb of tropical fruit flavors. This is a really good wine.

SLDS February 2021: Salmon tinged colour. Red fruits, lemon, some botanicals and red apple. Has plenty of interest on the nose. Palate leans more ripe than the usual Prevost style, but still has decent cut through. Not quite as thrilling as the other Prevost wine, but I could see this fruit working well in vintages that need that a riper touch.

Åpenbart en ung vin, men absolutt tilgjengelig. Faktisk veldig tiltalende nå.
Flott nese.

Vacation Wines - Costa Rica; 9/23/2021-9/26/2021 (Nayara Springs, La Fortuna, Costa Rica): 30 minutes to warm up and open up a bit. Similar notes to the last few bottles. Such vibrant fruits but balance. Just a really nice wine, that happens to be champagne.
