Medium gold in color, somewhat restrained aroma but just explosive on the palate with honey, pear, pineapple, orange, and saffron. Viscous and fairly sweet but there’s enough acidity to balance things out. Would work well with a cheese course, Indian, Sichuan, or even with the right dessert. These Schaefer spatlesen are just fantastic in their middle age.

First time checking in on this in some time, the dark color would indicate this is much older. Sugar is there, but beginning to slide into he background behind dried peach, quince, slate, dry honey, white flowers, and a hint of pleasant herbal tea. Well balanced, and with a long and balanced finish, this is still young and has a long road ahead. These are just beautiful wines.

Much darker golden in color than previous bottle. Still a wonderful wine but the sweetness really seems to have taken a backseat this time around. Everything still in perfect harmony though, the acidity is perfectly balanced by the fruit. Great stuff. Seems to be open for drinking now, but of course this will go the distance if you're so inclined.

surprisingly deep color. very nice aromatics and pleasant sweetness on the palate. the sugar is well cut by the acidity, but it is really the spritz that makes this sucha pleasurable drink.

Riesling Tasting (Schloss Roberts): Honeyed peach. Really nice building mid-palate, and this has a really nice med(+) finish. the only thing holding this back is some complexity of flavor that will likely come with time.

Very pale yellow colour with a gorgeous nose of slate, flowers, bright apple, citrus and peach fruit and spices. Creamy on the palate with sweet white fruits and apple flavours over slate and faint herbal notes that emerge with time and a core of bright acidity. Finishes long and clean, delicious with fantastic balance and I can only imagine how good this will be with time.

(AP #2 583 154 12 07) Light golden yellow in color with a classic mosel riesling nose. The wine starts with a river of sweet golden honey and tropical fruits that pierce the back of the palate and coat the mouth. The acidity perfectly balances the sweetness in a way that only German rieslings can. This wine is so concentrated and yet still manages to be delicate and full of finesse. Very long and lingering finish. I also picked up on the celery/vegetal aspect on the end that was previously commented on. Amazing wine. Definite buy.

Typical Mosel profile, sweet and plush on the entry, then a powdery, tactile chalkiness makes it turn drier. Promises some interest on the back end with a refreshing vegetal/celeriac thing.

Riesling - First The Rest (of the World), Then The Best (Germany) (Our House (2033 Brandywine St.): Excellent value. Nice sweetness. Concentrated. Sweet baked apple, brown sugar. But the acidity was there throughout. The finish is great. Deceiving at first, but this really comes into its own after a few minutes.

The wine shows like an Auslese, give it time...very long, very well balanced...very well made, but then again, what do you expect from the master?
