Seems like it’s still a bit young (2019 opened in 2023). A decent and reliable wine but perhaps needs some more time to mature. Very fruity and plenty of oak. Paired with a hamburger and enjoyed.

Definitely recommend with the caveat that this is still quite young. A very pleasant reasonably well made and somewhat stereotypical entry level CA merlot from a good winemaking team - right now very fruitforward and a crowd pleaser but also priced to be a crowd pleaser. Quite a good QPR wine. Drink or hold - drinking well right now just popped & poured but with proper cellaring will hold for a few years with expected softening and possibly a 1-2 point improvement. No real need to decant. Very dark, a bit disjointed at this point, fruit forward and somewhat monolithic with a longish intense aftertaste. Nose dark and aromatic with plum, dark cherry and a whiff of tobacco on the end. Flavor profile of dark fruit, molasses, leather and a hint of tobacco on the end here as well.

Medium purple color. Great aromas when opening and as you pour a glass. Cherry, dark fruit like plum, some herbal aromas as well. This continues in the taste, and chocolate mocha is added to the blend of tastes. Moderate tannins that change over to moderate acidity in the taste.

2018 was ready and very good this year. 2019 was not ready. Gonna lay the second bottle down for another year.
