  • 93-94 pts. Very nice, red apples, fairly full bodied, lots of fruit. Only drawback was that already on day 2 it was starting to gently decline. Some more oxidative notes, was nicer on day 1 with more freshness. But overall another great showing by Bereche. Their Mailly GC in 2016 was breathtaking.

  • This was amazing. Changed over 1.5hrs more than any other champagne I've had. That's a big statement!

At first the flavor profile was wild. Started with orange zest, slight lemon, slight citrus, mandarins, peaches. Amazing balance loooong finish.

After an hour shifted gears. Now gobs of almond and marzipan. Yet the bouquet remained amazingly consistent.

After 1.5 hours.....apples, mostly apple cider vinegar!! WTF. This chameleon really messes with your mind and palette!

I saved half the bottle for tomorrow just to see what else is coming to the party. One of the most profound champagne experiences I've encountered.

Had the 2015 Bereche Ay last week. For me this blew it off the table. For my misses, she preferred they Ay. How bizarre.

  • Really great bottle. Pure, dry, vinous, lots of spices, very much in the grower style, savoury, some bruised apples, not oxidative. A great vinous champagne to go with food.

  • This bottle is more like the one tasted in April 2021. Huge weight and vinosity, concentrated, nutty and spicy, very impressive. At Café Parlotte, Amsterdam, NL.

To celebrate the new year, one of the better Champagnes I drank this year. Rich, full, creamy, with vinosity yet nice acidity and freshness, gret texture, balanced and superb length, gorgeous.

  • Same wine, same disorgement (there was only one). If I am not mistaken, it displays even greater finesse than last time when I tasted it in April of this year. It is mind-boggling how a wine which harnesses such immense concentration and drive, manages to deliver it with such grace and charm. It is a resounding, profound wine, yet playful and eminently drinkable. It is so confident that it does not have to shout. It is powerful but not overpowering, it is refined but not aloof. It is welcoming and generous and above all plain delicious. Marvellous stuff and worth every penny.

  • Arguably Bérêche's grandest wine, 100% Pinot Noir from a 0.40 hectare parcel in "Les Tourets", 50 year old vines, spontaneous fermentation and ageing on the fine lees in barrel, prise de mousse under natural cork, disgorged 3 July 2020, dosage of 3 gr/l, with 2,349 bottles produced. Pale white golden colour with ruddy cheeks; rich and complex nose, perfumed and seductive, red apple and spices, jasmin and almond, deep minerality; creamy and rounded palate, luxurious but bursting with minerally energy, built around a firm acidic core; wonderfully expansive finish. An exceptional display of power and precision. Treat like a red Burgundy.
