Surprisingly not showing any signs of age. Rich and robust with solid tannins. Floral notes backed by white pepper and cassis on the nose. Tart cherry, black plum and mocha palate. Medium + finish. Easily another 7 years of cellar opportunity.

4th Saturday Group brown bagger (M/M thelostverse): Aromas of black currants and dark fruit. Medium-bodied with black cherry, currants and cassis flavors. The alcohol shows through on the bouquet and palate.

Is this past its prime? Perhaps. Is it gone yet? No. Decant 15 mins. During and after chicken. Faint nose left. Little tabacco. Light fruit. Slightly acidic and black fruits. Hint of alcoholy finish with a touch of red licorice. Tannins are gone. Still really drinkable but the glory is mostly past. Moving on to the rest of 2010's that were left behind.

The color of this wine is a beautiful garnet. The nose has berries, red cherries and some cedar. The nose is medium scale and somewhat closed. The initial flavor of sour cherries put me off somewhat even though the wine is complex and rounds out in the palate wiith flavors of red and black cherries, blackberries and a hint of anise. The flavors are focused and concentrated but yet Bordeaux like in character.

Dark but crystal clear ruby, this bordeaux-blend Iron horse red features a piercingly sharp nose straight out of the bottle of sour cherries, oak, and cedar/petrol. The initial taste is as tight as the nose, with the aforementioned sour cherries, oak, toasty tannins, and a hint of prune. After being opened for one hour, it is still the same. The cedar note is the strongest that I've ever experienced among any wine, much less a bordeaux-blend. Good for me, since I appreciate the cedar/menthol notes very much, but this is obviously not true of everyone; be forewarned! Very nice and stout!

Initial flavors of sour cherry & blackberry, and then transitions to vanilla & caramel. Complete with a smooth peppery finish. Utterly surprised & pleased by the segue to vanilla & caramel. Drinking beautifully now.

Deep, rich, berry and cedar nose. This wine is very elegant with dark cassis flavor and firm tannins. We decanted this wine 15 minutes before pouring, and it was much more balanced after an additional hour, or so. The finish is not perfect yet, but it will certainly improve with time. A delicious Bordeaux blend.

4th Saturday Group. Tasted blind. Opened by Rick. This comes across sweet, with black fruits and tannins still present. Guessed Syrah.

Juicy with some age. Past it's prime but still pretty god wine. Drink 'em if you got 'em.

Mmmmm. Hints of vanilla and spice. Not much of a bouqet. Not a BIG Cab. More of a wine with depth and interest. Good Juice, Very Good, I Like.
