I would say hold onto this bottle though I don’t know that it will ever be worth the close $30 I paid for it. The fruit was syrupy and while the structure was somewhat tight it didn’t seem to fit with the fruit. I don’t know. I seem to find this a lot with Etna reds though I’m still unable to articulate it.

Mount Etna (Hinchcliff house, Young Street): Low intensity aromas show a little sour red fruit, a touch of minerality, spice. Juicy acidity, fleshy, plenty of textured burr, simple, slight non-intrusive alcohol warmth on the finish. Okay.

Pale bright red On nose, green pepper and fruit On taste, wonderfully quaffable, maybe pencil shavings, like a good Pinot, but probably cheaper. We didn't want it to end which is always a good sign. Overall we liked this. Would like to compare with other Nerollo Mascalese.

P&P. Light ruby, slow moving tears (curtain) @14.5% abv. Aromas reminiscent of cherry, cranberry, earth, dried leaves. Dry, medium(+)-high acidity, medium tannins, medium(+) alcohol and body. Scintillating palate of red cherry, cranberry, kirsch, mineral, earth notes, and milk chocolate. Very good length with tight savory, finish leaving a "Sichuan-pepper"-like sensation. A excellent display of the sensational varietal Nerello Mascalese at its youth.

Like an extreme version of a young nebbiolo. Very dry and yappy tannins with bright red fruit acidity. Some interesting funk as others have noted. Wish I had with a better food pairing, not exactly sure what would be perfect for it. Interesting wine, won't be rushing back to it for sipping's sake, but nothing against it.
Popped and poured. Spicy aroma of black fruit with a little strawberry. Rich but slightly tart flavors of cherry and minerals. Tingly finish. Young, delicious, vibrant. Still a few rough edges but already compelling. Classic Etna rosso, decent price.

Agree with other reviewers… initial aromas - organic / barnyard on opening, but goes away quickly (maybe too quickly as now I thin that is part of what makes this wine so interesting Light tannins, and slight smokiness… can’t place the fruit, but there definitely is some Very interesting wine

A lot of organic/barnyard on opening, but with 30 mins of air it became much more balanced and expressive. Relatively light tannin, but lots of fruit and minerality.

Very interesting smell of barnyard and salt. Les notes that its pretty fantastic. And I agree. This is super interesting on the nose. Good tight structure to the back end.

Similar flavour profile to the Pietradolce with its pretty strawberry fruit, but this had a much firmer backbone of tannin.

Strawberries, raspberries, and more cranberries and pomegranates. Violets, roses. Bright and zippy. Still drank great on day 2. Really enjoyed this.
