  • Yet another wonderful white Rioja, this one a blend with Viura as the main grape, aged on its lees for 3 months in concrete and then 6 months in French Oak.

Nose is rich and oxidative with grilled pineapple, almond, honey, white flowers and butter.

Medium bodied and textural on the palate with rich, creamy acidity and wonderfully integrated alcohol.

Flavours add a spicy, ginger note, orange and stone. Could almost be mistaken for Mersault with the pronounced stone minerality.

    Great wine. Drink to 2026+

  • According to the TWA Luis Gutierrez (great writer BTW) this is 40% Viura / 30% Garancha Blanca / 30% Maturana Blanca. Aged for 3 months on its lees in concrete eggs, and then lightly toasted French oak for 6 mos. Quick thoughts, this is certainly a very high quality white; it does have the richness from the lees and French oak, but there is plenty of back end structure to make this work, an almost creamy acidity, and loads of white florals. A nice subtle white pepper quality is felt mid palate, and very precise on the finish. It doesn’t have the heights of a RlH blanco (nor the oxidative qulaity) but this is still well worth your time to seek out. Oh, I served this in a standard smaller tulip style glass that I use for Rieslings and the like, but I would like to try this again in a burg stem if given the chance.

Longue finale. Boire d'ici 2024.

  • Viura, Garnacha Blanca, Maturana Blanca blend - aged in French oak with light toast. Very fresh and inviting nose with lemon, cream, toast, floral notes. Palate shows vibrant acidity and medium body. Quite elegant and balanced. Excellent white Rioja that should appeal to lovers of white Burgundy - at a much lower price. Solid effort.

  • 1/7, good cork.
Pale straw. Nose is quite creamy, touch of butter, ripe fruit, touch of orange blossom as it warms. Medium/full, ripe creamy fruit, some attractive orangey notes, lovely weight, attractive fresh acidity, long finish. Excellent.
