  • Vintage 2020 - Wine with a beautiful visual impact, a nose predominantly fruity and slightly pungent, with an alcohol content that's not shy here (14.5% ABV). The fruit is red, ripe but not overly so—cherry, raspberry—with notes of cinnamon and a blossoming red rose. The palate confirms the olfactory sensations, with the alcohol prevailing over the nice acidity, possibly still not entirely balanced but nonetheless pleasant and fully in line with its category

  • This wine comes via an introductory mixed 2-case purchase from Fass Selections. All of the wines so far have been authentic, interesting, and if there's a common theme I'd say saturated with flavors, but in a good and not at all extracted way. Growers/producers are almost all small and intensely artisanal. The wines also seem uniformly well-priced for their quality and appellations.

Here's a case in point. The wine is a pale, transparent garnet red, about as light as you'll see in nebbiolo anywhere. The nose is airy, with fresh cherry, cranberry, and a bit of leather strop. Very light on the palate, and you'd be excused for placing it blind in the Alto Piemonte or maybe someplace even further north like the Valle d'Aosta. The fruit remains very inviting, almost cool on the palate, with a nice acid bite and tannins that are about as gentle as you'll ever see with this grape, like closing a door with a whisper. Very refreshing, appealing and food friendly.

  • Decanted. Now 1.5h after decant. Shy aromas with hints ii cherries, herbs, and earth. Palate w pretty red cherries mixed a bit of pomegranate, herbs, and a bit of earth. Excellent acids on a medium body with moderate tannins. Nice somewhat short finish of fruit, herbs and tannins. The fruit is so pure and lovely. More fruit forward (but not overblown) and not all that complex but the purity of fruit makes up for it. Nice every day wine.

  • Drinking with friends VII (Bellaria (Rn)): Rosso rubino chiaro, con bella lacrimazione glicerica.
Al naso evidente un bel frutto di ciliegia e fragola, arricchito da note speziate di pepe.
All'assaggio si mostra morbido, con un tannino gentile ed un frutto fresco e vivace che porta al finale.
