Had the 2019 and no surprise, it was much more ready to drink than this 2020. It started to really open after 48 hours. Orin Swift wines, regardless of the price point, almost always come around. Otherwise they can be dark and brooding with limited fruit. With the ideal amount of time, they can shine. In 2025, this should be better.

Big and massive , juicy and textbook Napa red full of substance and weight of fruit. It’s young now and albeit not sure how such a wine evolves if we are to draw a parallel to other of its kin a few more years won’t hurt albeit this level of exuberant youth worries us in the long term. Good wine and even at this young and powerful stage scores a 90 for us .

Agree with others who have said this has the usual Orin Swift quality to it. There’s a lot of fruit and some tanginess to it, as well as the ever-present vanilla. Maybe a bit too much going on. Some wines have an elegant taste — this one doesn’t.

On the nose, ripe dark fruit, vanilla and oak. Initial sips were ripe blackberry, plum, and black cherry. This opened up in the glass with vanilla and oak. Great length on the finish with black cherry being the prominent flavor.
Med+/full bodied, supple tannins, well balanced sugar and pleasant acidity.
This was a really easy drinking wine. I think it could stand to lay down a few more years for more depth. Would sip again.

Amazing nose with notes of sweet Kirsch Royal and Framboise. This is deeply colored and opaque. Palate of blueberry, black raspberry, black plum and more. Amazingly deft mouthfeel that seems to defy gravity. Balanced and seemingly pure, tgis has a cramy midpalate; an interesting wine, this is big boned but again, it wears those bones well. Blend of Grenache, Petite Sirah and Syrah.

Very purple in color—you might say mega purple. Some generic red fruit on the palate, along with some spice and some smoke. The tannins are fairly soft; it’s certainly ready to drink right now. It’s a decent wine, but you can do just as well for half the price.

Great nose of forest with some fresh baked berry pie (think pie spice…). Some fruit mainly boysenberry and maybe a little rhubarb. Got a little lost in the middle since it flattened-out. It lead to a medium finish with a little heat. If it is on sale again, and at the right price, I will buy. Overall, an O.K. wine that went well with our Thanksgiving meal.

PNP. Nearly opaque electric purple magenta color. Syrupy blackberry, raspberry, blueberry, and baking spice on the nose. Smooth, full bodied palate, with tongue drying acidity. Firm, full, lower intensity tannins on the medium long finish. Blend of Grenache, Syrah, and PS.
Overall, this came across as generic and overly extracted. It drinks way below its price point, but the vintage is at least partly to blame. Think “business reception” red. Part of Orin Swift dinner in my town. Mostly attended for social reasons.

Bottle looks interesting. Artificially purple and dark in color like concentrated grape coolaid. High alcohol at 15.4. Tar and creosote on the nose. Spicy and tannic on the tongue but somehow lacking everything in between. Almost flavorless? Short finish. Nothing interesting that would make you want to revisit. As a fan of Rhone style wines, I find this one to be completely boring and one note. At least it isn't overly sweet. So many better options out there at this price point. I'll pass.

Tastes like an orin swift wine. Super clean fruit, weighty soft mouth feel, vanilla overlay. While this wine has a lot of “delicious factor” I find it to not be all that interesting. I think it might have evolved a little if I had allowed it to breathe longer or age some. I’ve had many bottles at this price point that I enjoyed more than this one, but I wouldn’t say it is a total waste.

Garnet purple colored, medium full bodied, bright expressive tangy fruits with notes of dark chocolate, black tea and tobacco notes with a moderate tannin finish - not polished or balanced but suitable for tangy spicy BBQ ribs. https://unwindwine.blogspot.com/2021/12/ivy-wheaton-festive-holiday-setting.html

Nice balance between acidic, fruitiness, and tannins. Notes of cranberry, light oak. Overall just a pleasant, fresh, tasting wine. Solid bottle.

Over the top mass market manipulated tasting. Doesn’t taste bad I guess, just doesn’t taste like “wine” to me.
