Beautiful buttery aroma Dances on the tongue; deep caramel notes with a citrus hint. Nice, albeit short finish. J feels it lingers longer than I do. Extremely smooth. Some lemony notes to it. Several notes ongoing with the taste. Some honey notes come through with breathing.

Tasted 3 times since November, late release 2021 - this is an epic wine, more than good - rather palish in colour, it's showing it's age but in a very refined way, nothing heavy or clumsy, dried lemon peel, on the dry side and bubbles so small that you hardly notice - I believe it will remain like this for the comming 10-20 years, would love to taste the Dom P 1971 agains this one .. . Drink 2023-2043

"90th" Joint Birthday: D/g 2021 and 2021 bottles released, 10g/l dosage ~50/50 Chardonnay & Pinot noir. A vibrant light golden colour, Apple pie, lemon, fragrant nutmeg, lilies and ginger aromatics. The palate is remarkably fresh and bright but also has enough honeyed character to hint at its age. The components are layered, with fine balance and length. Delicious now and I could see it still drinking really well at a 60th birthday.

Champagne study (Chicago, IL): Disgorged in 2021(!), 10 g/L dosage. This is some seriously anachronistic champagne. Ridiculously clean and fresh for its age, with lots of sweetness that somehow works with the nuttiness and bready, autolytic qualities of this wine. The acidity feels so supernaturally fresh, and while I don't think this wine weas too complex in its youth, the age has given this plenty of complexity now. I think I liked this more than others at the table, but part of it may well have been just being so impressed by a 50-year-old champagne.

Showing beautifully. Complex aromatics of matchstick, Ligurian honey, peach, white mushroom and grilled nuts. There's still a gentle prickle from the bubbles. The palate is superb, with orchard fruit flavours and so much tertiary complexity. It has a vegemite yeastiness to it and a finish that is supremely long and fresh.

Recently disgorged and ex-chateau. Given that, I expected more than what was in the bottle. Good, but not memorable.

DRC Montrachet Vertical: Minimal bubbles. Some interesting flavors, but tasted less fresh than I expected from a recent disgorgement.

Drank at 110
Rare bottling with 50 years on the Lees (wow). Very mature with a lot of sherry notes.
