Fruit forward, plum, blackberry, pepper, tar. A bit of a tannic/mineral/tart finish. Enjoyable. Not worth the price IMHO, but they have a several years long waiting list so somebody feels it’s worth $133.

Consumed over three nights. It was a bit big on the first night and smoothed a little on the second. Drinking well, but there is no hurry to drink these.

Too early to drink now! However, 3-4 hours decanting reveals a beauty. Dark red. Dark berries. Olives. Stone. Blood. Edgy tannins. Wonderful wine, but wait!

So far all 2019 vintage wines from California (Cab, Syrah, this Grenache) I've had are drinking great already. Best early drinking vintage I've experienced (even the 2019 Roy Piper Cab is beautiful now and his usually require some ageing!) Gave this an hour of air and a sliiiiight chill and it was terrific. Not quite the depth of flavor of Syrah (which I prefer), but this was an interesting, though more subtle, experience. Love the peppery aftertaste and the dark fruit flavors. Absolutely ready now. For those whose preference is more mature wine, this will easily go years. Elegant, complex and deserving of the most technical term of terms, dee-lish!

Blackberries, black cherry pie, baking spices, pepper. Full bodied and structured. Balanced with long finish. A bit tight. Two hour decant not long enough. Garrigue notes and additional layers/complexity came to the fore with more time in glass. Probable higher score in a couple years.

Last bottle was so good I had another, similar thoughts as the first bottle, great wine so young but will get better if I can manage to keep my hands off them…

Just got these, but I had to try it. PnP, great nose, better than previous vintages at such a young age, dark red fruit, sweet baking spices, vanilla, loads of spice and pepper (hallmark of the 2019 vintage apparently). Worth a try right now, but hopefully will continue to improve.
Opened in the bottle all day and obviously still a baby. Tannic grip and heat currently dominate. Nonetheless drinkable with the potential here undeniable. I’d heave to believe this 2019 is the biggest and ripest wine that’s been produced by in JB to date. Still plenty of nice roasted earth, dried herb and mineral elements to create depth. Give it 5 plus years or a long decant.

A darker more brooding version of this wine compared to the 12+ vintages we have tasted! Dark fruit, a bit of pepper. Definite long term potential.

Young but with some air it was drinking well. Primary, integrated, no ruff edges.
