Consistent with the last bottle from two years ago. Very musty on opening (but no TCA), which eventually blew off, revealing red fruits, mushroom, green pepper, and herbs. Lighter weight on the palate. Noticeable acidity on the finish. Tannins have essentially all polymerized. It's definitely on its downward trajectory, so drink your bottles now.

This wine surprised me. No bricking, good cork. Still has good color and nose. The wine is reaching the end but it is clearly still fine and drinkable.. Fruit is still prevalent, the finish is diminishing, but it drinks pleasantly. This wine has been stored in a humidity controlled wine cellar at 56 degrees. Some of the other comments would make storage a real question mark in my mind.

Looks like it’s a 1883. All wet cork and some ullage. Very mature and most likely past its peak. STILL it’s quite a good drink and a very complex one as well. But time to drink up. Cheers!

Not nearly as good as the last bottle, but it's still hanging on. Quite musty on opening, but this blew off quickly, revealing red fruits, cranberry, cedar, mushroom, spice, and iron. Light on the palate, but with a nice mouthfeel. Hint of bitterness on the finish. Acidity a bit high as well. Tannins well integrated. This baby's still hanging on, but drink your bottles now. The fruit is fading.

Garnet color, brick to the rim, translucent but deep hue. The smells are tobacco, sassafras, sour cherry, violets, and blood. The tastes are cherry, dill, cedar, tobacco, earth, and bell pepper. The finish is cedary and long.

I knew there was a problem when I saw the cork was elevated a bit. The nose was completely off, even after 3 hours of air (which this wine simply does not need typically). Cooked fruit, with strange chemical scents. Just as bad on the palate. Bad storage here. It's a shame, because the last bottle was very nice.

Still drinking well. Red fruits, strawberry, mushroom, and leather. Medium-bodied and very smooth. Tannins are now subtle. Balanced acidity. Finish a bit short. Overall a very enjoyable Bordeaux that still has a little time left.

Strange. Both bottles were very cloudy though stored upright for 2 months in cellar. The first taste left a bitter finish but that went away after 30 minutes. Still had fruit and there was no bricking. I may be harsh on this wine because of its appearance. It actually Tasted OK. I've just never seen a bottle quite like this. I've drank quite a few wines from the 70's, and even the 60's. So not sure what caused this cloudiness. There is light sediment in the bottle. It has strawberry, coffee and mineral.

Nice wine, held up well over 30 years. Nice nose of strawberyy and cherry. Agree with comments that is almost like Burgandy rather than bordeaux. Fairly like bodied not like the full body wines from more recent vintages.

in beautiful shape shared at goosefoot initial tannins softened within a few minutes and restrained cherry/tart stawberry integrated with french earth spent the next few hours changing with every sip went well with and without food

This was gorgeous tonight! Fabulous nose with cigar box, mushrooms, asparagus. Gorgeous, smooth palate with truffles and licorice. Feels more Burgundian than Bordeaux.

Aging well, developing tertiary notes not present in the 2000.
Cork was solid, did not need spline.

Nez de fraise, encore un poil tannique en fin de bouche malgré une demi journée d'ouverture. Encore du potentiel de garde ?
