Consistent with the last bottle from two years ago. Very musty on opening (but no TCA), which eventually blew off, revealing red fruits, mushroom, green pepper, and herbs. Lighter weight on the palate. Noticeable acidity on the finish. Tannins have essentially all polymerized. It's definitely on its downward trajectory, so drink your bottles now.

This wine surprised me. No bricking, good cork. Still has good color and nose. The wine is reaching the end but it is clearly still fine and drinkable.. Fruit is still prevalent, the finish is diminishing, but it drinks pleasantly. This wine has been stored in a humidity controlled wine cellar at 56 degrees. Some of the other comments would make storage a real question mark in my mind.

Looks like it’s a 1883. All wet cork and some ullage. Very mature and most likely past its peak. STILL it’s quite a good drink and a very complex one as well. But time to drink up. Cheers!

Not nearly as good as the last bottle, but it's still hanging on. Quite musty on opening, but this blew off quickly, revealing red fruits, cranberry, cedar, mushroom, spice, and iron. Light on the palate, but with a nice mouthfeel. Hint of bitterness on the finish. Acidity a bit high as well. Tannins well integrated. This baby's still hanging on, but drink your bottles now. The fruit is fading.

Aging well, developing tertiary notes not present in the 2000.
Cork was solid, did not need spline.
