Nose of dark black and purple fruits, soft chocolate, and deep earth. Lots of fruit.
Similar dark fruits on the palate, a bit of tar, bitter earth with some dark minerals, and wet tree bark. Love the fruits here with a nice richness but the damn heat is showing so badly and it is so damn stubborn. Great entry on the front and mid palate but that heat on the finish is like the highway to hell. I hope this heat resolves with some time. 94-96

This is young, I suggest holding for 5 more years but with 6 hour decant this was approachable and good. dark fruit, choclolate, violet. Still massive and rich....

15.9% abv. Medium dark ruby, very aromatic. Black raspberry, black pepper, cassis, cinnamon and a touch of heat. Excellent depth, length and balance. A showstopper, wild and exotic. Great now, but should improve over the next decade or so and hold for a while.

About 10-11 months since our last bottle. The wine drinks richer and more layered now. So enjoyable with cola, cinnamon, eucalyptus, ripe black fruits, pepper and an herbal/licorice/earthy finish. Touch of heat, that’s my only nit, but it dissipates with air. Decant if consuming now.

Ok, I gotta call it like I see it. This was HOT HOT HOT. A Grenache cocktail if there ever was one. No, we didn't decant (so I'll take the hit on that for less-than optimal service). But oh lordy was this thing boozy. The brashness of the Stolichnaya-esque entry was enough to stomp on the fruit for practically all of the execution. The initial sip started to give some red berry flavors, but within the next millisecond of consumption, it was all about rave pacifiers and glow sticks. The 15.9% listed ABV felt more like 80 proof. I mean, I love all these stellar CT reviews on this rookie rager, but either my palate was having a delicate snowflake day, or this is just way too Charlie Sheen for my killjoy tastes.
I'm down for an occasional Paso Paris Hilton experience and all, and I still covet my SQN stash, but the delivery here is far too gangster for even me. Not rating, cuz I'd rather not have the CT community completely unleash holy hell on me for skewing the community numeric here.
Best advice, hold until...geeez, I dunno... when Pitbulls actually become domesticated.
Blueberry pie, blackberry jam, rosemary, rose, cinnamon. Finishes with tannins and some crisp acidity, nearly 16% alcohol, but doesnt feel hot or overly ripe. Enjoyed this a lot!

The wine is full body, deep red, dried fruits and high acidity and tannins. It was very confusing, I never thought I will be drinking a 2019 so soon. At this point it’s not too much different than drinking a Josh but you can tell the ingredients are there to be a massive and complex beauty…
92++ HOLD please.

Wine night /w Stealth913 (Stealth's Hideout): What an amazing nose. So floral with dark violets and roses, dark and ripe red fruits but with a lift that keeps the fruits fresh, pleasant earthiness and undergrowth, and a touch of peppered tobacco spice. On the palate were blueberries, fresh and youthful plums with its skins, shiny minerals, dusty and disintegrated earth, and a lawyer of bark skin. With some pizza, it becomes a bit spicy and shows heat.. might be a wine to enjoy on its own, or we just paired it with the wrong food. This got better with time as well. Should've bought more.. 97+

Whoa! Grabbed this wine quickly, just wanting to try one of the 2019 Saxums, and wanting to have one that was lighter and Grenache based, since Alaskan King Crab was going to be the main course. I thought that this wine was excellent, even as a pop and pour after we had finished dinner. It was very smooth with soft tannins, and I’m looking forward to paying more attention to it the next time I try one.

Pnp. Black and red fruits, pepper. Smooth, savory, refined and balanced with fine tannins and a long finish. It's young and needed to air a couple hours. Improved second day.

Wow this is very good and so early. As Justin said this has the early drinking potential of the 2017’s, but should also improve with 3-5 years of age. Intense dark fruit, sweet baking spices, pepper, cocoa powder, amazing purity and balance with a silky profile. Love it!

Had this blind next to the 19 Turtle Rock G2, 19 Andremily G2 and 19 Paul Lato Il Padrino. This was neck and neck with the Turtle Rock, but came in second. I kept going back and forth on which I liked better.
This is a spectacular rhone. It was the outlier in this tasting since it was not syrah dominant. Nose of violets, black cherries, underbrush and rose petals. Shows exceptional freshness, extreme depth and layering plus well integrated but firm tannins. Very fresh, taut and pure, it's got a bottomless pit of energy that doesn't quit as it moves to a super long finish. The longer this was open, the better it got. Certainly young right now, but wow, so much potential.
Grenache initially with the Mataro’ kicking in at the end. Bright and deep. Touch of heat on the finish. Leans almost more savory and not as “big” as some Saxum’s. Southern Rhône style. Take away the heat on the finish and I can see why this got a perfect score. Hour of air prior to serving, initially through a Venturi into a magnum decanter.

Opened in the bottle all day and unlike other years more approachable than the James Berry. Heat up front but tannins are relatively mild (though still grip). Ripe red fruited with vanilla, anise and roasted earth. This needs 5 plus years in bottle or a near all day decant. Like the JB only upside from here.
