From the fantastic 2019 vintage in Tuscany...... Glorious wine, well made Rosso, approachable, drinkable, loads of black cherry and a medium finish..... Really, really enjoyable.

At Gibson's Italia in Chicago at a business dinner, second wine of the evening.
Translucent, bright, ruby color. Red fruits, earth notes and herbs on the nose. Palate of cherry, strawberry, balsamic, licorice. Red fruits, tomato sauce(?), fig into the mid palate. Medium body and finish.
Energetic and fruit forward. Good now but will age nicely from here if wanting to cellar. Great with pasta and savory foods.

Ruby coloured with garnet highlights. Perfumed with dried red berries, charming roses along with herbal undertones. Very elegant yet focused and concentrated.

Earth, red fruit, wet stone on the nose. In the mouth, a surprisingly good balance of fruit and mineral, with a medium-length finish that evokes a bit of orange peel. Damn good. Drinking very well for the age.

Light cherry color. Anise, cherry, herbaceous on the nose. Palate had licorice, red cherry and herbs. High acidity, great with food. Small tomato leaf note as well in there and some bread. I'm happy to have finally had something from this legendary wine maker. And I really enjoyed the Rosso di Montalcino. But I find the price to be very high for a RdM. You pay for the name Biondi-Santi. Finding similar quality at half this price wouldn't be that difficult and you can also get a Riserva Brunello around this price which would blow it out of the water. All in all, very well made, delicious and paired beautifully with duck magret. Would also probably gain a point or two if the price was more reasonable.

Pronounced cherry fruit. The younger vines of the estate. There is a new vineyard that is being reared and brought up that will go in with the 2025 vintage. Old BBS-11 clone. Won't be held back an additional year like the Brunello. '19 will be another great vintage in Brunello.

Drank as part of a wine arrangement at a restaurant. Seriously nice wine that is drinking very well after a few minutes of swirling in the glass. Typical Sangiovese character with the right level (medium intensity) of fruit flavors and acidity, and without overly austere characteristics or too prominent tannins. Feels a little like how a Brunello would taste that has five more years of ageing under the belt. I would definitely buy a few bottles if it weren't for the excessively high price.
Biondi Santi Tasting (Tudor Hall, King George Hotel): Double decanted, slavonian oak for 12 months, 13% The wine shows clear pale color The wine shows med intensity, fragrant, pot pouri scented, marascino cherry, ethereal with some herbal notes like black tea, a thin spice frame, a touch warm with toast hints Very fresh in palate, med body and acidity, nice juicy tannins, there is some warmth, very well balanced, crunchy texture, easy drinking, fresh, elegant, med finish

They note that its a good year for quantity and quality. The new managers note that this isn't all young fruit. Its a selection. Balsamic and the tannins are smooth and pleasant.selectwd from place and grapes where they think hits the style of thier rosso.

Nose of cherry liqueur, wild strawberry, balsamico, herbs, minerals, cranberry and lavender.
Lovely freshness, medium- mouthfeel. Sleek and easy drinking, this will offer a broad drinking window, I think. The best quality of this wine, in my eyes, was its freshness and almost naive nature, not a pretender by any standard. Lovely.
