Drinking beautifully at 9 years of age. Bright medium ruby (almost pale i.e. quite translucent), beautifully expressive (almost pronounced) nose and very elegant, mature and medium intensity palate offering some lingering and seemingly candied red fruit and integrated secondary flavors that are kept in check by a refreshing acidity and - despite the wine's age - a frame of fine but unobtrusive tannins. I'm confident the structure of the wine allows it to continue to age and develop (more) tertiary flavors for several more years. A true delight to drink now along a truffle, potato and smoked spinach dish as well as a spring chicken filet served with bordelaise and a stew of the chicken legs with salsify and tarragon.
As pleasing and classy as it was though, I'm not sure I would be ready to purchase the new vintages of this wine at the current retail prices they seem to fetch. Was fortunate to drink this 2015 vintage in a restaurant at a price well below that level (as it was bought at a time the prices were still reasonable)...

Drank very nicely indeed, has certainly reached the start of its maturity plateau in my opinion, as the typical exuberance and tannic grip of a young wine (even if this was my very first tasting of this wine) have meanwhile gone and made room for composure and some tertiary notes (while retaining typical Sangiovese flavor profile). Didn't decant, only some slow ox during a few hours. The final drops remaining from the small sample I took after popping the cork, turned unexpectedly brown upon heavy swirling. I wonder if the slow ox was even needed/beneficial. Maybe it was a bottle that had matured exceptionally quickly.
