  • Deep purple color impressive extraction. Deep perfumed nose with a touch of coffee and floral aromas. Changes in the glass with coaxing. Very vinous and turns savory but shows the sweetness of Pinot. Well balanced in the mouth with mouthwatering acid and freshness. Long very tinged finish with nice structure. Will hold my other bottle for 5 more years.

  • No notes taken. This was a lovely Chambolle with the finesse, the elegance as the highlight. Medium expressive nose and palate mostly showing fine dark red berries, a bit of underbrush and minerality, as well as some spices. Very satin-like structure and feel without any excess weight and a fine spine of acidity. The wine doesn’t have the complexity or poise to get to a higher score but offers a lot of drinking pleasure. 91/92

Decanting: Not decanted, no decanting needed.

  • A Sextet of 2020 Sigaut Chambolle-Musigny (Dig Wines, San Francisco): Slightly less saturated color than either of the first two wines. More wood resin than fruit aromas. Medium to lighter weight, not nearly as sappy or ripe. Herbal, downplayed blackberry fruit, higher acidity, excellent soil base and moderate but pliant tannins. Nothing warm vintage about this at all. Backward and less expressive now.
