Really wanted to like this, but this cuvee is not nearly as good as the estate or single vineyard offerings. Yes, the usual ingredients are there - golden color, aromas of green apple, pear, citrus and oak - but falls apart on the disjointed palate where green and yellow fruits blur and collapse into insipid finishing flavors of citrus and oak. Have enjoyed the single vineyards for years; this restaurant cuvee is not at the same level.

Once again a fabulous showing. Something here really jumps out. I am not sure where the viscosity comes from but it s large and mouthcoating for a Sonoma Coast wine.

At Le Bernardin NYC. Starts off a little tight with green apples, citrus, gunsmoke, some salinity, but opens throughout lunch showing ripe stonefruit, toasted oak and butter notes as well. Dry, medium + acid, full bodied. 14,1% alc well integrated, ending in a long well balanced finish sporting the quality fruit.

Let me just say that I did not expect this level of viscosity on this wine. I mean this is super rich, thick, viscous and juicy. The juicy fruit is tropical with elements of banana, mango and vanilla bean. The mouthfeel is one of the thickest juices I have had. Almost baby Sauternes like.
A serious production which deserves very high score.

Lush, creamy, and flinty with a twist of lemon & orange zest. The first sip will make you swoon, until the acids kick in. Overall an excellent Sonoma Coast Chard and very complex but a tiny bit under ripe. A hybrid of crème brûlée and key lime pie; this is very generous and has a broad mix of delicious tropical fruits with wild flower aromatics, beeswax, and a snoot full of gun powder. Beautiful golden straw color. Drink now or within 3 years.

Tasted from winelist at Emeril's Coastal, Sandestin, Miramar Beach. Golden straw colored, medium-full bodied, complex yet elegant, polished and balanced layers of juicy peach and pear fruits with hints of apricot and white flowers, turning to a mineral backbone with stone fruits on a long sumptuous finish. https://unwindwine.blogspot.com/2023/04/kistler-les-noisetiers-sonoma-coast.html

Stored at 55F, and took about 30 minutes for it to come to serving temperature where the fragrance opens up. On the nose, oxidized apples, lemon and hay/wood. It had a bitter after taste similar to if you brush your teeth then drink apple juice immediately afterwards. Alcohol is more upfront than other chardonnays I’ve tasted.
I have a heart for Kistler wine as I visited the Trenton Roadhouse a year back, where it was my first Kistler wine. I would pass on this blend as it’s not for me; their other chardonnays are better in a sense that it’s smoother, not as alcohol-forward as this blend.

This was a lot of fun over two nights and held up very well. Large scaled, dare I say buttery, with tons of richness and concentrated pear and lemon fruit. Really “new world” in every sense but especially tasty.

Fragrant, cashew, banana, cream, baked yellow apple, and pineapple nose with a mineral component. Richly textured, flavourful palate with very good weight and balance; long, smart, complex finish. 4.5/5

Holding well, still fresh and a solid structure and balance. Good amount of fruit. Green Apples, white peach, solid body and buttery.

During a merchant tasting, no detailed notes. Ripe with oak and buttery element, good acidity to support it. Well made, stay fresh enough.

My first Kistler and I like the style. Leaner than I expected from Cali with a lighter touch on the still present oak. Great with seafood ceviche.
