  • Lovely nose. Palate has a lot going on, including cranberry, Italian herbs, and some light mineral and tea. Touch of smokiness on the long finish, with a balanced acidity.

  • Scents of sweat and metal in the beginning. A few mins later, an astringent smell comes out, with some floral hints. However, there is a humid and covered feeling.

  • 12,9 abv with grill roasted salmon, cardamom rub, mushroom, shallot and crème fraîche, thyme. Notes after an hour or so uncorked.

Vibrant translucent Deep Purple/ruby, almost belied the varietal, aromatics of ripe fresh cherries, bramble, black tea, sousbois, hints of black pepper. Palate reveals cherries with slight confected note, along with tart red fruits cranberry, pomegranate, bramble, some savory elements and sousbois but no whole cluster herbal/green notes detected, lighter more delicate palate/ body despite the inclusion of Pommard, 667 clones, medium plus lifting acid, no significant oak after aeration, medium plus finish. Tannins we’re fine grained. Definitely gained grace and nuance after an hour. Quite young but mainly selected for grilled salmon- however the sauce idea was last minute and really needed an older bottle for the shrooms. Note to self.
