I was once a fan of this Sauvignon Blanc in the early days when it came to the U.S., but not so much since the brand was bought by Constellation. A lot of grass and "cat pee" — too much for me. At least it still possesses acidity and has not been sweetened, like so many other corporate-owned NZ Sauvignon Blancs.

Nose - clean snd light with a hint of citrus. Palate - light citrus, medium body, delicious with linguini and pesto, zucchini, quartered tomato, chicken nuggets with BBQ sauce.l 3/1/24 - with pizza, light marinara base, thinly sliced onion, chopped red bell pepper, pineapple and cashews, and a little mozzarella. Also a wedge salad with bleu cheese dressing. Spectacular!

Bought a half bottle from the liquor store around the corner from the hotel I’m staying at. Currently drinking this out of my room’s paper coffee cup. You know, treating it with the respect it deserves.
Tangy and bright. Tropical, slightly green, and somewhat sour. Prototypical NZ SB that hit the spot. Short finish. The perfect wine for soloing at a hotel.

Very good, consistent sauvignon blanc, with the grapefruit zing typical of Marlborough style; goes very well with seafood. We also like Whitehaven and Lovelock. Ric

12.5% alcohol -- a little less than last year's vintage with 13%; Constellation Imports, Rutherford, California; screw top, aroma of sweet citrus -- especially oranges and grapefruit; long legs, 10K gold, some effervescence bubbles; opened and tasted 30 minutes later at 19 degrees C in a Riedel wine glass designed for Whites; the nose is like the bottle cap's aroma -- lots of citrus, even a little of the cap's metal; this full-bodied wine surprised me with sour notes a lot stronger than in last year's vintage, sweetness is reduced; the medium finish tends to convert the sour citrus into beginning bitterness; would still pair well with seafood, such as cod or tuna, less so with salmon

Tropical fruit flavor with passion fruit and grapefruit. Fresh and juicy with vibrant acidity, weight and length on the palate. Think of a not so ripe grapefruit served over a bed of lawn clippings. Quintessential NZ SB.

High Acidity Medium Alcohol Medium Bodied Medium (+) Finish
Medium (+) Intensity - Lemon, Lime, Guava, Green Apple, Grapefruit, Green Mango, Verbena, Elder Flower, Cucumber
Pure expression of NZ sauvignon blanc, full of citrus peel and oil, green fruits, and some fresh herbs, mouth-watering acidity, smooth mouthfeel, slightly bitter on the finish.

I’ve always thought this offering was one to tone down the “cat pee” and grassiness, generally middle of the road. This one exhibit less. Not particularly viscous or intense, Kind of lackluster, but still easily identifiable as very New Zealand. It quickly looses its zip with just a few minutes of air. Kind of disappointing especially because of the short finish.

Pale lemon with hints of green. Notes of lime, a little lemon, and passion fruit. A bit grassy in a slightly disturbing way. On the palate, it is more concentrated and green with high acidity and some texture. The finish was on the shorter end.

PnP. Very pale straw with clear edge in color. Pungent nose of tomato leaf and lemongrass with glints of candied pineapple. On the palate: meyer lemon, apricot and kiwi. Good acidity with medium (leaning to light) weight. Medium length finish of kiwi and meyer lemon. Would be a 90+ point wine if only the length was a bit longer and the palate a bit more viscous / weighty.

PnP. Typical NZ aromas of grapefruit, melon, apple, pear, citrus and a hint of grassiness. Loaded with flavor showing grapefruit, gooseberry, lime, melon, citrus, mineral and a hint of grassiness. Good acidity. Not overly complex, but very enjoyable.

For a huge corporate wine this is drinkable. Nothing outstanding but party wine for sure. Grapefruit, lemon, mild spice and tropical fruit. Short to medium finish.
