Tasted non blind. Opened and served immediately. Followed over about 90 minutes.
Garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of red berries and cherries that carry straight through to the palate. Perhaps a bit of red raspberry on the palate as well. Medium acidity, resolved tannin, medium to full bodied. Drink now. Definitely ready to go and might slide over the hill any time.

Fully mature for a domestic pinot. Tannins have completely resolved and there is just a hint of alcohol on the back end which indicates to me the time has come to drink up and enjoy. Overall, a very nice wine. No real mature notes like you might find in Burgundy, but that might be attributable to the screw cap.

13.9%. Very fresh tasting (must be partly due to the screwcap). Classic pinot smells, with a slightly jammy tone. Sweet on the attack and finish. Tart cranberry. 20+sec. finish. Mellow, rounded, linear. This is very good; sadly, I have no more bottles. Went well with Peking Duck. The leftover went well with roast goose (Chinese style).

Primetime has arrived for this wine - patience paid off as this was not nearly as good a couple years ago. Everything I love about pinot is here in spades - earth, cherries, minerals, fresh velvety smooth tannins, adequate acidity. Really long on palate. Came off a little sweet with spicy Thai pork dish in a good way then turned more earthy after food. Delicious.

This seems one dimensional with too much greeness and flatness and lacks the usual OR Pinot expressiveness of fruit, funk, terroir, zippy-ness or complexitiy. Nose far better than palate. Actually & interestingly, after putting in fridge after intial tasting, it was slightly more expressive of what it had to offer when consuming chilled. Bigger fruit from warmer year in OR, but this lacked fruity expressiveness and seemed hot as expected from vintage. No idea what this wine is striving for in winemaker style, or from the warmer fruit driven vintage. Just OK and way overpriced for the bang when one can enjoy Crowley, Westrey, and Evesham Wood Single Vineyard or Reserves for the same $$'s. Spend a few more bucks and get the best from Cameron, Eyrie, Soter, Deponte, and others that are consistently stylistic, great showcases of the vintages & really solid OR Pinot without breaking the bank.

Another nice bottle. Did not take notes, but it had deep red fruit flavors that painted a broad swath across the palate. Also has a good bit of spice. Very well balanced with round edges, a slightly creamy texture and enough grip and structure to keep it fresh and bright. I liked it a lot and did not experience any of the flabby-ness of some other tasters.

Moribund. Tasted flabby and overextracted. Have liked this much more in the past. Perhaps it's reached a poor place in its evolution. Note that previous bottles always had dark cherry aroma overtones while this was disitinctly raspberry. There was an initial heft of red berry fruit. Unidimensional and faded after an hour. Quite thin on Day 2. I usually do not believe that Pinot is enhanced by sub 60 degree serving temperature but that might help here. Really lovely, fairly soft and pretty ready to drink, I'm betting it's best over the 3-4 years. Medium weight combination of very nice fruit and some earthy, loamy notes. Lingering finish with soft oak notes.
This bottling of select plots from Ribbon Ridge, Momtazi, Shea and Stoller vyds has the good features of 06 (rich delicious fruit) without the bad (heat, over-ripeness, low acid with tannin). Not a blockbuster but quite nice and a lovely way to spend an evening with a silly French comedy that certainly goes a long way in explaining the French love of Jerry Lewis.

Rather unusual, but intriguing, combination of flavors, textures and aromas. Light, bright ruby, translucent color with a red berry/cherry nose with secondary aromas of dark berry, licorice and a hint of tobacco that emerge after an hour or two. Based on the color and nose I expected it to be lightweight and elegant. Instead, what I got was a smooth, medium-bodied wine with a full, creamy texture and a big kick of acidity on the finish. The edges smooth out over time and it takes on a bit more body and a darker, earthy, spicy flavor profile. I think it will be very interesting to see how it develops over the next couple of years.

Opened on a Tuesday, re-capped...poured on Thursday. This was tasted single-blind and was in the top 3 WOTN (I ranked it 5th of 13). Much improved over 6 months ago, the dark fruits have put on some weight and the balance is beginning to show. This could have been open another day or two. Big, but not over the top. Will open the remaining two in about 2-3 years. Approx $41.

Quite youthful at the moment, this wine exhibits tremendous structure and great purity. The wine is still a bit backward right now, but it clearly has the stuffing to go another 8-10 years. A hint of dustiness, rich red berries and cream round this out nicely. I won't open the remaining 3 for 18-24 mos., at which time it'll likely be drinking quite well. Includes fruit from the Ribbon Ridge, Momtazi, Shea and Stoller vyds. 13.9% abv, approx $40.

Thanksgiving Wine Tasting (Carlton, OR): One of the only Pinots today that I've been able to taste the oak. It's nice in this wine, giving it structure and strength. Fabulous burgundian nose of earth, fruit and spice. Scott Wright has allowed the terrior to be the driver in this wine. Graphite and red fruit at first taste. The wine opens nicely into a fantastic, well rounded PN. You could leave this in the cellar for a while, but why wait? This fantastic wine is very drinkable now. Memorial Day weekend tasting, 2008 Oregon Pinot Noir barrel samples (Northern Willamette Valley): Good fruit, but not too interesting at this point... I actually preferred the Martha Pirrie to this.

Lovely Pinot with berry and earth on the nose and lush mouthfeel. Blend of fruit from Ribbon Ridge, Momtazi, Shea and Stoller Vineyards. La Paulee is named after a traditional French harvest celebration that takes place annually in Burgundy. This wine is a celebration in your mouth!

Magenta red in the glass. Very nice aromas of cherry fruit and some earth, but a little closed. Palate was similar with more cherry, some Indian spice and firm tannins on the finish. This needs at least another 3 years.

more elegant than many 2006 peers - almost as if someone had let the seabreeze in from the pacific, rolling over the hills and down to the fermenting grapejuice. a saltinesss altough it lacks a bit of structure.

Very nice wine - a bit chewy, but good balance of earth and fruit.

Raspberry fruit, with a black cherry component. Leather flavors are also present, making this one of the more interesting Pinots of the day.

Dark cherry and candied fruit on the nose, plus a bit of heat. Ripeness continues on the palate with mostly darker fruit. Nice feel but lacks a bit of snap, would like a bit more structure. Nice bottle though.

Beautiful nose full of rich cherry and raspberry liqueur. Toasty oak and vanilla up front with darker cherry and cassis twoards mid palate. Desired a bit more acidity and overall balance, but is a good bottle none the less.

Yummy! Loved this and wish I had more. Left bottle opened for about 1 hour, but did not decant. Silky smooth, great balance, earthy, medium body, lovely finish.

Who knows, you might get hit by a bus next week.
