12.5% alcohol; imported by Winebow Inc, New York City; screw top, aroma of generic sweetness and some overripe fruit behind it, possibly kiwi and gooseberry; long legs, pale 8K gold, opened and tasted 10 minutes later at 12 degrees C in a Lucas & Lewellen glass designed for whites and some reds; nose of the fruits growing in Aladdin's Garden; full bodied, a little Strudel (effervescence) tickling the tongue; in addition to the kiwi and gooseberry, presence of grapefruit, and maybe some stone fruits like peaches, on a less sweet, more serious background of minerality, touches of sourness and bitterness; not straightforward at all but an unexpected, well-crafted me'lange of complementary flavors; long finish lingers on the back of the tongue; pair with cheeses (Gruye`re, Port du Salut, Limburger) and seafood, like line-caught Pacific Coho salmon, prepared on pecan boards over a charcoal or gas grill

Classic SB from New Zealand. Light golden yellow. Nose of banana, passion fruit, lychee, tropical fruit, and minerality at the end. The mouth is acidic with banana in the front , accomapnied by passion fruit, lychee, stone fruit, lime and some white grapefruit peel. The mouth is almost full with great refreshing acidity and minerality, and medium plus sweet aftertaste. Great everyday SB, one can drink now and in the next 2-3 years. 91*

straw, slightly green hue in the glass. Passionfruit and vegetal notes on the nose. Great mouth-puckering acidity immediately on the palate, followed by lime, passionfruit, and some nice minerality on the finish. Light-bodied, medium finish. Unbelievable QPR.

So much more restrained and balanced than most. Goosberry and cut grass and summer meadows. No tinned vegetables or burnt green pepper here. A bargain at £6.50. Despite being widely available this is notably better than its competitors.

Light crisp refreshing and dry, with hints of pink grapefruit, melon and a tinge grassy but not quite as much as an Italian Pinot Grigio. Enjoyed chilled at an airport bar of all places (Phillips Seafood, Charlotte NC USA - CLT.)

A while since I have had Villa Maria! Reliably classic Marlborough SB - gooseberry and grapefruit and relatively refined.
