  • Roagna Horizontal 2017 Part 2 (Yan Ting): Decanted for 7 hours. Served along side the Giacosa Barolo reserve, this was airy, heady, like standing in a rose garden. Palate was stunning silky, full of roses. Stunning wine.

  • Tasting the Crichët Pajé is always a giant privilege, pure joy and a milestone moment to me. The 2014 is an aristocrat, a Barbaresco that immediately and automatically captivates you and activates all your Nebbiolo cells, both on the nose and palate. Radiance and complexity speak of the youthful class and quality of this particular Barbaresco, emerging from a selected sub-plot of Roagnas Pajè vineyard. The 2014 is all noblesse, vigor and depth combined, hard to capture fully at this young stage of its lifespan, while shades of elegance and a big inner power hold hands. Cool red berries, dried roses, orange blossom, sandalwood and chestnut are pushed by a refreshing kick of eucalyptus. More air activates also a whiff of autumnal meadows and scorched earth. A wine with myriads of nuances, hidden secrets and an immense young allure, as well as potential for decades to come. A really gorgeous Barbaresco and follower of the latest striking vintages of Crichët Pajé.
