Comprised of 85% Sangiovese and 15% Merlot that was aged for 10 months in neutral oak, this medium-to-deep ruby wine offers an aromatic profile of raspberries, Montmorency cherries, violets, dried herbs and loamy earth. Medium-bodied and with good freshness, it delivers flavors in line with the aromas and stays solid on the mid-palate. The tannins and wood are nicely integrated, making for a supple yet energetic, medium-length finish. This can be popped and poured, not requiring extended aeration. Drink now-2029.

Solid journeyman Chianti, everything worked fruit, acid balance and tannin development, not particularly interesting but lovely with the food. Maybe a bit pricy for what you get.

Gambero Rosso Tasting (Doltone House, Sydney): Red cherry, sweet spice, a little plummy note. Fruit forward. Medium plus intensity acidity, sweet cherry fruit with a savoury underpin offering a touch of charcuterie, talc textured tannins, slight alcohol warmth on the finish. By itself probably a perfectly pleasant midweek quaffer but here it's a touch anonymous

Pleasant Chianti, easy drinking but not to my particular liking.

Lacking the acidity I normally associate with Sangiovese. Medium bodied, with some black cherry, mocha...maybe a bit of oak treatment.

Ripe tomatoes, full bodied well balanced smooth finish. More meaty than fruity. Eoungh acidity and grip. Very solid Chianti

This has aromas of plum stones, blueberries, walnuts, beeswax and flowers. Medium-bodied with creamy, firm tannins. Firm, clean and fresh
