My second year at this tasting...it was as impressively disorganised as last year...I managed to snaffle an invite to the trade tasting earlier in the day for an hour so could do a recce for the later tasting and try the most popular stuff
A lot of silly fun. Some nice wines and some dogs.

Peachy, wax, floral top note, fresh. Juicy, savoury, a little waxy texture, fruit is slight muted, touch of bitterness on the finish

Clean, cherry, sweet spice, little dried herbs. Juicy, fleshy, slightly sour cherry, drying tannic burr persists long, simple, balanced, slight non-intrusive alcohol warmth on the finish. Okay.

Clean, polished, slightly meaty notes, sweet spice, muted plummy fruit. Medium plus intensity acidity and tannins; the latter drying grippy rasp persists long, again a slightly sour underpin to the muted fruit. Hmm.

Smells dense, concentrated, a little mushroom, dark hued fruit is reserved/contained, a little pot pourri note. Medium plus intensity acidity and tannins; coarse floury textured, that little umami note, touch of dark fruits, long, slight warmth on the finish. Slightly out of whack. Okay.

Savoury with dried flowers, a little perfumed floral note. Muted plummy fruit, a touch of baked earth. Sourly juicy, fruit tea, concentrated medium plus intensity woody tannins, nose nicer than the palate. Meh.

Medium minus intensity aromas shows a little polished oak, sweet spice, pot pourri, touch of sandiness, plum. Juicy, fleshy, drying, talc textured tannins encroach, slightly oaky caramel and sweet spice note, plummy fruits, balanced, long, okay.

Cherry with a savoury underpin, slightly jubey, clean. Medium plus intensity acidity, cherry with a little bitter cherry stone. That jubey note translates to the palate, soft tannins, simple. Nice

Cherry, pot pourri, dried orange peel, touch of perfumed top notes. Medium plus intensity acidity, that dried orange translates to the palate joined by drying grippy tannins, cherry present as well, all travel long. Quite nice.

A little polished oak, plums, sweet spice, very slightly meaty underpin. Medium plus intensity acidity, polished oak, medium plus intensity drying grippy tannins prove chalky textured. Fruit is lost beneath this.

Ooh, lots going on here, herbaceous notes and a cornucopia of orchard and stone fruits. On the palate it's a little soft with drying texture and a similar flavour profile. Pity about the lack of acidity.

Very very slightly reductive struck match notes with sweet spice, butter and stone fruit showing apricot and peach. Medium plus intensity acidity keeps things fresh, quite fruit sweet and a little oaky texture and sweet spice in support. Okay

Plums, sweet spice, a little anonymous black fruit in support. Juicy, simple, savoury dark fruits, tannins are softly grippy, surprisingly lightweight and, for me, a touch anonymous on the palate as well.

Plums, prunes, sweet spice, raisins, caramel, plenty of oak here to match the ripe fruit. It is quite sweet and sour on the palate with some alcohol warmth to accompany the plentiful woody tannins. Crikey!
