Glass: Zalto Universal Popped and poured, drunk over two days. Perfect bottle, cork, fill-level. Clear, youthful medium golden color. Clean, medium+ intense, developing nose. So fine, fresh and young! Ripe citrus notes, chalky mineral notes, fine herbs (woodruff), tangerine, vanilla crescent and some petrol. All interwoven, dense and multi-layered. On the palate also very fresh and juicy. Only 12% abv. Medium+ acidity, almost racy and stimulating. Tannin gives this wine a good grip. Orange peel/zests, tangerine, smoky, herbs, fresh citrus, chalky mineral notes and some slight petrol notes. Great. Wonderful texture, harmony and balance. Long, juicy and lingering fine finish. This wine is at its full peak! Amazing experience! 93-94

Hit-and-Run Fun with Buns (Momofuku Ssam Bar): Pleasantly bitter on the entry, then the flavor of the softly textured fruit, the flinty minerality, and the mild acidity give this a personality somewhere between riesling and sauvignon blanc. Even without much acidic cut, there is something here (perhaps a combination of the bitter edge and the alcohol) giving this a boxy, angular mouthfeel. The shape is more interesting than the taste.

1988 and 1989 Alsatian Wine Tasting (Hi-Time Wine Cellars, Costa Mesa, Ca.): Great, clean, simple nose, nice, light fruit tasted, good, medium body, trifle austere on the finish, good sugar, very beautiful aftertaste.
