2nd bottle of 12. This is just starting to enter its peak enjoyment window I think, as it evolved nicely over the evening. No rush to open another bottle soon - I think that this will drink very enjoyably over the next 10-20 years

This is my last bottle of this wine. It’s certainly got better over time and showed well at a Bacchus evening with it getting voted best wine of the night. Blood red colour with a complex nose of blackberry, black cherry menthol, high notes of perfume, sweet spice. This follows through on the palate with plenty of sweet black fruit, still with some grip on the mid palate and with a long, spicy, peppery finish. Excellent.

This wine has evolved since I last drank it. Blackberry and Chinese spice, cracked black pepper, tar, oil and smoke on the nose. The palate offers up sweet blackberry and blackcurrant fruits, Chinese spice and pronounced black pepper. Tannins are still present but fine grained. This wine is great now but lots of life ahead of it.
Purple. Ripe damson, blossom, oak spice and a smattering of vanilla. The palate is still fresh and primary with lots of ripe damson fruit, spice, wet granite which coats the mouth to provide a long finish. Still plenty of life left in this wine.

Blueberry and milk chocolate nose. The wine is big, tannins still prominent, lots of black fruit, bundles of acidity too. This wine is beginning to come round but this has loads of life left in it. Very good now and certainly better than last time I tasted it and I am sure it will get better so one to keep.

Dark and youthful, alcohol sliding down the side of the glass. Nose has a man made whiff of plastic and then with an extra hard snort you get blueberry and cooked plums. The flavour is plum, blueberry, quite rich, ripe and fruit forward, very little secondary flavours. Finish is persistent but it's not a flavour I'm greatly enjoying. Not my style, demands food.

Popped and poured. Dark ruby, youthful still. Nose of black and red currant and an elegant, fresh violet nose. The palate has sweet blackcurrant fruit, quite big and brooding palate, lots of alcohol, tannins certainly still present but not aggressive and good acidity and a nice peppery, sour finish, It's certainly a food wine to enjoy with some red meat such as lamb or beef. Lots of life left in it so no need to drink up as some drinking windows have suggested.

Restrained nose, stones, herbs and some fruit but all in all underwhelming. On the palate quite mute with a silky texture, gives away some fruit over time but closes again after 2 hours. Extremely young, try again in 5 years?

Weird nose of dark fruits and freshly opened tennis ball can. Moderate body with plush black fruits, liquorice, Spanish cedar and tannins that could use some rounding out. Drink now - 2016
