Golden with orange tint. In the end Schildknecht at the WA is quite right with his 87 points for this and my last bottle was in better shape or I was much too optimistic. I don't know riesling spätlese from germany at least if it is from a reknowed producer that doesn't hold through for 13 years of bottle age (even the basic rieslings). There is fruit left and it is still yummy, but there is more one can expect of course. This is definitly not getting better, but is in decline. I like that version in contrast to that it was never better than this. Still very good but: Drink it up. 5/11/16/5. -2018

Spicy, candied ginger, spiced pears, and some citrus, with an almost gewurzy opulence. This has shed some baby fat form a couple of years ago when I thought it was too flabby. Still very rich but with the acid and clarity growing with the time, as well as growing with time in the glass. Good freshness and the probably high RS is still balanced and fresh. Very enjoyable and a great foil to our Mexican tonight.
