In recent weeks, I have had the chance to re-taste a good number of Bordeaux 2022 samples to see their evolution almost a year after the primeur week. I put you below and in alphabetical order, those that I imagine for the moment, worthy of the highest grade! It must be understood that I have not tasted all the wines, far from it, and that some others are going through more difficult evolutionary phases for the moment and therefore impossible to rate while remaining honest. Only the notes after bottling will be truly conclusive. Thank you for understanding this.
Cheval Blanc, Lafleur, Las Cases, Les Carmes Haut-Brion, Margaux, Petrus, Tertre-Roteboeuf

Yesterday I was lucky to taste a new sample of Petrus and Lafleur Expansive nose, the mouth is not shy either. It's smooth and very concentrated, with loose tannins and hints of coffee and mocha, but a fruit juice side that leaves traces; notes of raspberry with a hint of somesthetic liquorice. There is a presence and an obviousness, the power is tamed and faces great depth. Sensuality with seriousness. Squaring the circle

The best Petrus ever made in a very very long time!! He regained his 1st place alongside the fabulous Lafleur and the grandiose Cheval Blanc. Welcome back your Majesty!

Violets, lilacs, roses and jasmine are in full-force before finding all the red, and black pit fruits. On the palate, it is the striking vibrancy, and intense concentration that is the story here. The purity in the fruits, depth of flavor, chalky tannins and endless waves of black and blue fruit stay put on your palate for at least 60 seconds. This is a unique style of Petrus which blends intensity and vibrancy with a purity of fruit and touches of chocolate . There is nothing out of place. The wine is perfectly balanced, seamless, and well, prefect. The success of the vintage is due in large part to waiting for the right moment to pick. With their deep, blue clay, they harvested September 1 - September 7, 14.5 ABV%, 3.63 pH. Yields were 20 hectoliters per hectare. Drink from 2030-2065. 98-100 Pts.

En Primeur campaign for the 2022 vintage Day Five (Bordeaux): fresh and fleshy plums, backed by sweet spice and a tiny liquorice notes on the nose. Medium plus intensity acidity plums, fully integrated oak, a little saline splash initially, fair lick of alcohol warmth on the finish, quite broad and dense. Powerful without being overblown, all travels long. Over time some blueberry and raspberry notes joins the plums on the nose and palate, tannins are talc textured persistent and encased by the fruit. Pretty good.

Possibly the greatest wine I've drunk in my life (en primeur) with Lafleur 2019 (in bottle)
