  • So young. This has layers and you can tell it will develop. Hold if you can. Heavier side. Dark fruit. Yum.

  • Tasted at Cristom Winery tasting room. This wine comes from the relatively new 22 acre Paul Gerrie vineyard named for Cristom's founder. The wine was fermented 46% whole cluster and aged 18 months in 44% new French oak barrels. The wine is a dense, slightly translucent ruby garnet. The nose is quite effusive with red florals, spices and darker berry fruit. This seems curiously open-knit flavor yet dense with a heavier texture showing pomegranate, black cherry, cloves, and a broad, long finish. Well-structured with acidity and tannin for aging. Probably the most tannic of the cru's tasted today. Very classy wine with a long future.
