I am trying to make some space and clear out a few wines. This is the last of three low end Bordeaux tonight. This is one is drinkable, but tired and not very interesting.

- Medium forming legs. It's balanced with a medium body. Satin-Like texture with a medium finish - Brought to Thanksgiving dinner party. After struggling to remove cork which became saturated, we decanted and left for about 90 minutes. The color and fragrance were quite remarkable. A wonderful compliment to the dinner, and underrated compared to other writers.

Drank from a 375. Probably could've used another couple hours of decanting after the two hours I left it in the air. Not very smooth, but potentially still tight. Fairly one-dimensional. An OK BDX.

75% Cab, 20% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot. Bramble and sandalwood on the nose. Medium bodied with round tannins, fresh currant and notes of earth, oak and graphite. Some plum coming out as it opens. A bit of alcohol on the finish (retail $20)

Disappointed. Drank much better about 3 years ago. This bottle was tired and unimpressive. Slightly better the second day, which is what I am basing my score upon.

Fairly decent lower end Bordeaux - has enough sweetness and softness in the fruit to make this very drinkable now. Plums, some black fruit and fine tannins - really quite pleasant in a non-challenging kind of way. A touch peppery on the finish.

A spectacular QPR wine from a very solid producer, the 2005 Landat drinks more like St Estephe than Haut Medoc (where the property abuts). This wine has delicious sweet fruit on the nose and in the palate, but is balanced with firm tannins and massive minerality (would you like some wine with your crushed rocks?). This is a great example of an exceptional vintage meeting a solid winemaker. Other vintages of Landat drink much more elegantly and with more fruit.

We drank this after a 2 hour decant. The wine showed purple with reddish hues in the glass. A generous nose of cherries, smoke, and cedar. I thought the nose was more fruit forward at first, but as the night went on I got more of the smoke and cedar up front. The dominate flavor I got on the palate was chocolate. Great tannins on the back of the palate leading into a nice drying effect on the finish. The finish was chocolate, cassis, and black cherry, and was long lasting. This is a well structured, complex wine. I think it would do fine with 1-2 more years of aging, but is drinking well now.

Mild Bordeaux blend. Darker in color and almost non see through. Intense color. The nose has musty leather with Cinnamon walnuts and dark blackberries. The palate starts soft and the tannins light with dark fruit and dusty feel. Overall a more tobacco feel to this wine. the mid palate tannins kick in strong on the sides of the tong and then a dark finish kicks in at the back with a dirt taste. Ok for 20 bucks a bottle but not my style. Kind of a plain wine.

Aromas of dark fruit, soft and easy on the palate. A very enjoyable, light Bordeaux for a nice weekday dinner, or even by itself. Impressed for the price, great QPR.

No bricking. A little earthy, with dark berries. Soft. Time is up.

Excessive earth and leather on the nose. Chewy flavors, not well balanced but pleasant. Drinking ok now but the fruit is already not very prominent.

Disappointingly thin, unbalanced. Par for the course on anything labeled Alfio Moriconi Selection at Total Wine. Spend your money elsewhere.
