3hrs of decant, needed tonnes of air before start drinking well. No tertiary aromas yet !!!, dark cherries with chocolate, nicely balanced and rounded. Insane longevity but can't justify the price tag by any means.

Opened a couple of hours early and the air helped the fruit to come forward to balance the dustiness and leather elements. It had great medium plus body and as always a lot of acidity iso it felt clean even after a 30+ seconds finish. It still seemed young so I think this has 5 years of improvement and will go 10 more years in my estimation.

Double decanted to remove sediment. Initially high acidity and sour cherry liquor together with tonnes of tobacco, then closed down for 30 mins, showing predominantly chianti acidity, just to change dramatically after 2 hrs, becoming more rounded and subtle, bringing clean cherries upfront, mixed with espresso and some rosemary. Medium weighted, top class as the price suggests. Used Zalto Burgundy glass - as they do in the 'Castello' (tried 3 different glasses this one was way better) Overall, sophisticated wine made for the long run. If I touch a bottle within next 3-5y, I will leave it in decanter, air helps a lot.

Very nice Chianti!! Instant ripe black cherries on the nose. Very attractive. On the palate the same cherries, but also liquorice and some minerality. Good acidity, medium body, nicely integrated but slightly dry tannins....Love it.

Really I could drink this every day - if only it were £20 a bottle. Restrained and elegant chianti classico in a classical style with lovely perfume and balanced palate. Light cherries and tobacco notes dominate. Excellent, but the sort of excellence that could easily go unnoticed by someone powering through 60 bottles at a tasting.

Taste of dark fruit, pepper, tobacco and some minerals on the mid-palate. Very dry on the finish. The finish is not long. It's a B+ wine. Has balance to be good. It needs more bottle age.

Smell of dirt, fruit and tobacco.
