blind tasted against 16 others in my cellar with friends, this showed a little behind the pack. gold and brillaint it smelled of white pepper, oak, peach and a bit of citrus. Classic chardonnay with oak present, was the predominant flavour, medium but not syrupy, but low complexity, more citrus than expected with buttery finish. medium length, low acidity.

Medium lemon core, with lively nose of fresh melon and lemon. Rather full-bodied, with crisp acidity. Vanilla and ripe melon on the palate, showing some oak (though the wine has enough heft to absorb it). Still young, though very pleasant to drink, this will benefit from a bit more time for the components to integrate.

golden in colour, rich butter on the nose going into the palate - this reminded me somewhat of the Aussie chardonays from about 10yrs ago, very upfront and heavily oaked, although this does have somewhat more finesse. A bit surprised at the style, although I think the fruit is now starting to go over, and the other flavours may be taking precedent - it would be interesting to try a younger version. Nice wine though.

Nose: Nice white fruit, minerals, peaches. Very aromatic and vibrant.
Taste: Was expecting something rich, but found it very restrained. The quality of the fruit showed here giving good purity of flavours. The oak influence came in the mid-palate to the finish in the form of some light toast and burnt butter. Good flavour and finish, nice wine.

Loved this wine. Overwhelming fruit and honey on the nose. Medium-full intensity with pineapple (unusual for a kiwi chard), lemon, honey, peaches, California oak, grass, and a hint of jasmine. Medium body, a slightly longer finish would have pushed into the stratosphere, but the complexity is most satisfying. Will definitely buy/drink again!

A lot of oak and buttery notes here - simple and quite pleasurable but is there is quality here???- some lemons and crispness give this some dimension. Clings to the palate. The question lingers "If I gave it another 4 years and if it was French would it be marked better?". I dunno.
Edit: After 3 glasses this is no Mersault.

Tight nose - similar to a chablis. This wine feels slightly less ripe than the 2004. The wine is certainly built to age - tight with a core of wonderful inner intensity. At the moment a bit hard and unyielding with a bracing structure. The wine needs 2-4 years, I think. Very good.

Pale yellow. Fresh floral nose. Subtle oak and forward fruit is a great combination. Complex, smoky, soft vanilla. More French than New World in style. Great to drink now and in next 12 months. Bought 2 cases and very happy with that!

The fruit has intense flavor but -- unlike the Pinot Noir and the Sauvignon Blanc Cloudy Bay wines -- this wine is not particularly distinctive. It could be any new world Chardonnay with its powerful does of oak rendering a lot of butterscotch and cream, and its fruit-forward-all-out profile delivering body and structure. Enjoyable, but not elegant, and it could certainly benefit from being treated with less oak. Reminds me of Sicilian Chardonnay (like Planeta), but I think I prefer the Sicilian ones. Drink now and in the next 4 years.

Pale gold; toffee, vanilla, creme brule; lemons, butterscotch, medium body, good acidity, nice finish. Elegant with just enough buttery oak to balance citrus flavours. Good observation about pistachio nuts on the nose. A bit overpriced however.

Worked wonderfully with the lobster soup. We were favourably surprised. A well-balanced chardonnay, good body, with a long a and lingering aftertaste. No bells and whistles - just a subtle, well-made wine.

Started with acidic austerity, strong hint of mineral and flint. Gradually evolved into honey and tropic fruit. Great fun to drink.
