We usually love this type of rich, almost fatty whites from the South of France. Furthermore, we love the reds from Reynard so this should be bullseye for us, right? Not really. The alcohol was too present, and we missed the aromatic and floral notes that we had hoped for. Drink now.

We first tried this wine with rouladen a couple of years ago and, while the wine was odd, the pairing worked. This time I think that the wine has moved too far down the "odd" wormhole. Oily, almond paste and something that reminds me of very over-ripe pineapple.I sought out more bottles after we first tried it, I don't think that we should have let them sit so long. One bottle left, I might try it soon with something with sauerkraut in it.

Above expectations, pretty complete and complex wine. Medium intensity with white chocolate, floral (hyacint), acacia wood, yellow apple, banana, mango, nutmeg, orange peel, minerality, marzipan, dried yellow apple. On day 3 ginger, dried apricot. Medium acidity, medium+ finish. The wine kept evolving during the evening and over the next three days. 91-92

Onklers August 23 BYO; 8/26/2023-8/27/2023 (Sindre): Color as morning urine. Intense and complex yet delicate nose. Acetone, almonds, marzipan, tropical fruits, ripe fruit and tomato stem. The palate becomes a style break compared to the nose. Very dry, almost giving a fortified impression, which does not give off any fruit.

Quite dark and mysterious, nutty with honey notes; if amber had a taste, said AD, who leoved. Layered and quite deep and cioncentrated - but you have to like the style. #Kandestederne

Would we accept this, if this was not des Tours? I am not sure. Very rich, heavy on the honey, some alcohol showing, a cheese wine, maybe. Others spoke of the future, still in doubt. #Rune#Avignon

Bright amber color. Immediate opened up with intense white flowers, tropical and dried orchard fruits, seabreeze, cool stone, honey, light caramel, raw nuts and some ginger spice. Big, viscous and full bodied, very long but a bit one dimensional. Drink now.

Interesting for sure and more a food wine that to be enjoyed by itself, note of honeysuckle, oxidative apple, nuts and marzipan on the nose, similar palate, with low acidity, medium body and a medium finish, the alcohol showing on the finish is a bit disappointing

Reminds me somewhat of the 2015, this is rich, layered, dense, fruity with notes of honey and peaches. Quite full bodied a and wee bit sweet. Not sure how it will age. #PBinthegarden

Yet another Terroir Tuesday at Table, Donkey and Stick ft. Clos Rougeard (Chicago, IL): Yeah, definitely not my cup of tea. "Chunky and alcoholic." Somehow not oily though, just cloyingly sweet (without fruit?!) and incredibly phenolic and high-alcohol.

Ikke like tung i munn. Lettere frukt med mindre påtrengende sødme og bedre syre.

Quite dark. Oxidized nutty notes on the nose. Palate is dense and oily. Somewhat brighter than it looks but overall a dense hot experience.
