Found during an inventory and I didn't have very high expectations - but what a treat! Tons of pine, rust, forrest floor and black fruit on the nose. High tingling acidity, refreshing tannins and a gorgeous "dirty" taste. More pine, moss, raw meat and cocoa with that black fruitiness tying everything together.
At that procepoint, it's a steal if you have the patience.

Having had much older versions of this, it was clear to me that this was young. The good news, however, was that despite its dark core and fuzzy tannins, there was still a lot of interesting stuff going on here. The nose had some funk that comes from its 100% mourvedre composition. Funky, earthy, smokey, it's a real nice melagne of smells. The palate had dark dark fruits, and a very masculine smoked earth, and underbrush notes. As mentioned above, the tannins were pretty fuzzy, but after about 90 minutes of air they really softened up. Yummy stuff, and with proper storage, I feel like it'll really hit its stride in another 5-7 yeras.

Really starting to come around now, showing signs of better integration. Still young though with rough but pleasant tannins that mellowed out a bit on day 2. Would'nt be surprised if this peaks in another 5 years.

Quite deep, but slightly dull purple colour On the nose, black fruits & leather with a pleasant enough high-toned furniture polish element. The palate shows good deep, but not rich or jammy black fruit and some enjoyable herbyness and some violet, oddly not seen on the nose. The tannins aren't aggressive, but do work with the acidity to give clear structure and grip. The finish has a decent length, but is also very much kept in line by the tannin. I'm not surprised by this - rather I'd feared this wine being tighter at a young age.
Overall pretty classy & will hunt this down again. If cellaring this, whilst it can be drunk now, I'd be tempted to leave it 4-6 years or more.

The nose is small. Very balanced on the palate with some soft tannins and some acidity. Nicely structured. Not a whole lot of fruit but tons of tobacco and leather. I like it!!!

dusty rustic nose of black fruits and iodine. Fresh acid, rustic flavors almost pushing rusty nail in nature. Bitter and funky...very odd wine...structurally sound but very unique flavor profile. Tight as a rock.

Well integrated - typical of Souther France; Mourvedre, isn't there a hint of Carrignan a well?

Austere at the moment; severely tannic. Needs a few more years at least

May be too early to drink, lots of tannins. Still, you're left with the expression of an excellent wine.
